    Excerpted from my trip report:

The Rio Carnival World buffet is a regular buffet for $39.99 weekday dinner. There is a $20 upgrade that gets you into a "special" seafood section you get a piece of paper with LOBSTER printed on it.

I took the full menu and paid with it with RCs.

The menu hadn't changed significantly from last year's review.

What I have pictures of were what I had to eat. Unfortunately, time and hunger prevented from taking more pictures

    Raw Oysters

    Snow Crab and Stone Crab

Roast Sirloin, corn, Cheese and Salami

Lobster and Warmed Snow and Dungeness Crab

Lobster after removing the crab (you only get one serving of crab.

    Crayfish, Green Beans and Asparagus

    Bananas Foster

The only parts that I thought were lacking were the dungeness and Stone crab. The dungeness crab wass either 1)overcooked 2)left out too long, or 3)both. The Stone Crab was (still a little frozen) and a little tasteless.

DaiLun, with the $20 upgrade you can only get one serving of crab? Does this apply to the other seafood items as well?

And I know exactly what you mean about Dungeness crab left out too long or under the heat lamp for extended periods. The meat dries out and gets tough and tasteless.

I still can't figure how that's worth $60. Did you think it was? I had the Rio Seafood buffet a few years back with the Buffet of Buffets pass I I was thoroughly disappointed. I thought most of the Seafood was lacking in quality.

Only if you "love" seafood and eat the stuff that the other buffets don't serve, like raw oysters, and stone or dungeness crab.

I like a little red meat and vegetables with my meal, but I visited just to make a 2017 comparison.

I do love seafood ESPECIALLY Dungeness crab as well as lobster, shrimp and crawfish. Oysters and scallops are the only things I don't like. And I still didn't like it.

Does this or any other buffet have sautéed or broiled sea scallops (not bay) on the buffet. Also raw clams on 1/2 shell, not steamed.

Well, I don't "make" my plates for show. Look at the review that lists the menu items, and note the things that I thought were "sub-par". For $60.00, I think that you can do better unless you are a real seafood "fan".

If you fill up with stone crab claws, and are pretty hungry you can approach the value of the buffet. That stuff is pretty expensive at any restaurant -- or even a seafood store.
