I had a HUGE crush on Debbie Harry and loved Heart of Glass, Tide is High, and Rapture! I still have a vague early memory of being in a hotel room and seeing The Tide is High video with Darth Vader for the first time.

There was one of those going to be there during the vacation that we canceled due to Harvey. The lineup was Tony Hadley, Missing Persons, Cutting Crew, Dramarama, Wang Chung, Berlin and The Flirts.

Btw, Mandalay Bay Beach is an awesome place for a concert! Doubly so for a meet up since you are free to wander around and sit/stand wherever.

LOL, I was like 7ish and my dad was in the hotel biz so I spent a lot of time in them. It’s one of those memories where you can’t remember very much except one odd piece that has stuck with you over the years. For me that was watching The Tide Is High video. In later years I didn’t trust my memory because I couldn’t for the life of me figure out why Darth Vader would be in a Blondie video..lol.

As I’m writing this post thru iPad I’m listening to all my favorite 80s music... just got listening to straight up by Paula Abdul lol.... this song reminds back late 80s when I became 18 friends and I were able to go Canada (lives in Michigan) and in Canada you can goto bars at 19 years old but back then they just let us in..l(I know right? So crazy) I remember going to strip club and thought this is so awesome lol....so immature and young naive I was...

Now, blasting Creep by Radiohead (yes it’s from 90s but I still love it)

What I really hate are all the horrible remakes of this song! The original was awesome.

Great thread love the 80s stuff. Great to see British music so well liked over the pond.

Heard this in the car last week for first time in years. Proper 80s, big hair and cheesy.

Even has Vegas featured in it.

Not a well known song but my favorite from the great J Geils band.

This is the first solo effort from ex Eagles lead guitarist Don Feldor and damn it's a doozy with a great opening riff.... believe he played The Orleans last year.
