We have some friends going to Vegas with us in early Dec. We are booked comp at Bally's and they are looking at options that are reasonable. Currently looking at The Linq. I have not stayed there but know they updated most of the rooms in the last couple year. I like the Casino and Linq Promenade. However I've read a couple TR's that mention a section/room type/something that is less desirable, hard to find etc. Does anyone know which room type (ie High Roller View) would be a safe bet, or a specific request they could make to avoid getting the "bad" rooms? Thanks!
First id suggest they use hotwire for the Linq rooms, can usually find a great bargain for center strip casinos on there and they don't want a room in district 3---no no no no no. The $20 trick has worked for me 2/2 tries and the other stay I was upgraded just for being cordial to the person.
Just came back from the Linq. We had a king suite. Theres a video tour in my TR if you would like to see it and if you have any Q's feel free to ask!
We stayed in a standard room last year. Updated during the renovation a few years back. It was fine. Smallish, but clean. Bathroom was fine. We probably wouldn't stay again as we prefer the rooms at Harrah's and can usually get either comped. If it was our only comp, though, I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
District 3 is the more difficult to navigate area but once you know where it is, its not bad at all. To my knowledge all of the rooms have been renovated and are pretty nice.
All the rooms are fine, if not a bit small. Location is great. The Linq really caters to the younger crowd.
District 3!! That is what I'd heard about. Is there any way to book in such a way to avoid that, or is it something you have to ask at check in? I appreciate the quick replies from everyone, I'll pass all your comments along to my friend.
Yeah, I don't see what's the big deal about district 3. It's fine if you ask me. And if you know what you're doing you can take either district 2 or 3 elevators to get there. I'm guessing the person that recently complained just had real bad luck. If you want a quiet king room ask for 3xx36 (where xx is a high floor). We stayed in 31636 with zero issues. Note, don't pick this room if you want a "view".
No complaints about staying there. As others have said, nice updated rooms a bit on the small side. There are rooms that are on the "loud" side of the hotel, but just tell them to ask for a quiet room.
Have you called Bally’s reservations and asked what the friends and family rate might be? The first year I went with my group of friends from high school my host was able to get them a little better rate that way.
I didn't have bad luck--they upgraded me to a king suite for free-- it's a nightmare finding your room if you miss one of the numerous turns.. I'm not the only one,,, met several people in hallways with same deal...love the place but ya better have your GPS on
Rooms are perfectly fine. Renovated, clean, comfortable beds. Hotel isn't huge so wouldn't worry about long walks and it is perhaps the best located on the Strip. Between the hotel and the Linq Promenade, one of Vegas's best selections of restaurants and bars. You can't go wrong with Linq in my view.
Depending on events, etc. Ballys may actually be cheaper. I have never had a bad room at Ballys in several stays (although I prefer the Jubilee rooms). I also suggest checking on a F&F rate, or asking your host (if you have one) what he could get for a rate for them on the 2nd room.
Seconded. I don't remember the exact numbers, but I was able to get a great F&F rate for a second room at my friend's bachelorette party just by asking VIP services-- much better than what I saw online, and I'm a very low roller.
If you want to definitely avoid noise from Carnival Court book District 3. I called the front desk back in March and asked. If view is important request Pool View, though there will be pool music 12-6pm IF the pool is actually open. It shouldn't be difficult to get tower 3 at check in because most people "think" being farther back is a detrement.
There were 3 of us in our party last year so we got the two queens & a bunkbed room. The single bunkbed was situated above one of the queens and it worked out fine. They used the barn door style door that slides along the wall to conserve space. The remodel was quite nice. Enjoy!
This is a great thread! We are considering a night at the Linq in December. Our comp options are Harrah's, The Linq, Flamingo or Rio. We are leaning towards the Linq, but really haven't spent much time at this property at all. We would like to try to get a quiet room, with somewhat of a view. Which district should we try and request? Thanks for any help!
I've been staying at The Linq since the 1990s when it was the dreaded Imperial Palace and the not much better Quad and can offer my insights: If you want to avoid the elevator crunch, District 1 uses a separate elevator bank right by registration, across from the craps tables, instead of those in the back that all the other districts share. If you want a Strip view, you get District 1, but you also get the noise from Harrah's Carnival Court. I have stayed in these rooms, and it is loud until 2:00 or 3:00 am, even if you're on a high floor. Probably worse for me, the music starts around 3:00 or 4:00 in the afternoon, making it hard to take a nap or relax a bit in the afternoon or early evening. If you want elevator convenience, you can ask for District 1, but facing the inside court. Extremely quiet rooms, since you're facing a courtyard, but your view is the windows of rooms in other towers. This is where I ask for a room now when making a reservation and checking in. In the past, I've stayed in other districts for one night because there was nothing available in District 1 when I arrived. Again, I've never had a problem getting a quiet room, but I've been staying there a long time, and I've turned down down stays at other CET hotels to stay here, even when the place was a dump. My reason is I prefer smaller hotels and don't like walking a half-hour from my room to get out on the Strip. For this, The Linq is perfect. If your looking for glitzy rooms, The Linq isn't it, even though the whole hotel was renovated a couple of years ago. Deluxe single rooms are a bit smaller now than when the hotel was the IP and might be a bit tight for more than two people who aren't married or extremely good friends. Furnishings are modular and very dorm-like. No tubs in the room, but a good sized shower. Refrigerator and safe in every room. But everything has always been extremely clean and well kept, and the beds very comfortable for me.
Had a room in District 3 a few weeks ago and it was fine, though it did take me a while to figure out how to get there. I guess you would call what I had a "pool view" but was actually more of Brooklyn Bowl, the Flamingo and beyond. It wasn't bad at all and the room was just fine. I enjoyed the casino. Here is a short video I made showing the room and the view:
Thank you for the info and video. We have changed our plans again. We got an email from Cosmo for $109 a night and no resort fee. We jumped on it!
