It seems this was made quite some time ago, but it's an amazing documentary to watch. An hour long, but totally worth it.

What amazed me the most was how elaborate that suite at the Las Vegas Hilton (now Westgate) is. Holy ****! I'm still at a loss for words.

It's interesting to see how different high rollers approach their gambling. Some play to win, others just to play.

You will be floored when the retired doctor said how much she lost over the past seven years. Not just in the amount, but also in how casually she said it. I won't say the sum here. I'll let it have its full effect when she says it.

Thought you guys would appreciate this. Would love to know your thoughts!

Enjoyed this documentary very much! I give it 5/5 stars... It showed the man pictured in extreme opposite scenarios of how you look as a winner and a loser.
Vegas will bring out all the emotions in all of us, moral of the story ...lose what you can afford to lose.

Good stuff OP, thanks for the post. Watched the whole thing. "Dan the Man" looks like he'd be a cool guy to roll with.

Playing the slots...."so there's no skill involved. You're just pressing a button". Yes. Which is why slots are dumb. They can put all your favorite TV characters on the screen, with all sorts of lights and colors, but you're still just pushing a button and hoping.

On the other hand, she doesn't even know which friggin cards to hold on VP so she's basically doing the same thing there

She can be the sweetest lady in the world but watching her in this video was infuriating. I wouldn't let her treat my hamster

Not to be a downer but that was rough to watch for me. I love gambling but it was more discouraging than anything I've seen. Not trying to cut others down. It certainly showed the reality of gambling.

Yeah, watching the one guy steam as he goes from table to table was tough to watch. I have seen it in real life multiple times, but in the casino I never let myself stare too long the way the camera does

At work right now so I cant watch the video however I have seen it many times before.
Are you referring to Allen "the Mattress king". If so I assume you were just joking. He is from Canada and I doubt he is an Uber driver now :p

This may actually be a legitimate claim.

Here's the Reddit thread where this was posted: https://www.reddit.com/r/LouisTheroux/comments/4b7up7/update_louis_theroux_gambling_in_vegas_doc_rich/

There's one part in it where the blackjack player with a severe problem goes full Griswold.

"If I could get just one streak, just one streak I could get it all back."

    Cracks me up every time.

Omg I think I've watched this one over a dozen of times. It's my favorite Vegas fix when I'm a long way from a Vegas trip.

I love Louis Theroux, the journalist. Most of his documentaries are really cool.

I would want to play baccarat with Dan the man. I think we would have a good time ;)

Probably watched that 3x, Louis Theroux is a great documentary film maker. He has an awkward demeanor but he sure gets folks to open up and spill their guts.

But the Mattress King driving for Uber? I'm not buying that.

It's funny, I'd never even heard of him before I watched this. Doing some follow-up Googling, it turns out he's got a whole cult following! Now I gotta check out more of his work.
