Coming back with some bankroll is a winning trip in my book, so though I know you wanted to be a net winner, I'll still pass on to you my congrats for a great trip with good times!

Another trip to Vegas is in the books. Trip 15 for me. Made it home safe but the last 25 minutes of the flight was bumpy due to weather. For 10 minutes it was constant up and down and side to side movement yuck. Also landing at Midway sucks, landing at Midway when raining is a miserable experience. Flight attendance forgot to lock a cooler and beer cans went rolling down the aisle (GO BANANA!)

A brief recap for those of you who couldn't follow along or chose not to (don't like live reports @Joe).

First lets get over the ugly I took about an $1800 loss broken down into (-1158 slots, -866.5 Video poker, - 76 Sports/Horses) I did have a table win of $286 (UTH, Craps, Double Ball roulette) Mrs. Wanker had about a $1900 loss. All on slots (a little on VP). I wanted to get her to play craps but every table was packed downtown, except for Elco but we had to meet up at MSS. For her the slots sucked hard except for last night. Didn't provide a lot of cycling in and out. Some of our losses were downtown, flamingo and Caesars but 80% was at Cosmo.

So a about $3000 loss at cosmo generated about $17k (both of us on my card) coin in (VP,Slots). That seems low to me. I know for Mrs. Wanker she said that she burned through $20 quickly on a machine. I had twice where I lost $100 on Bonus poker at the bar with less than $700 coin in. Host said that was a $1226 Theo. I didn't get any comps on the back end, he had me 57% of theo from my offer so I was over comped a little (I believe it is usually 30%). I expect a lower offer next time though it seems marking offers from there run different than theo, cause I usually never get back end from random hosts (first time I have one on my own) Which of course is good with me! I just wish I could be slightly over comped and win!

I probably played less tables then normal due staying at Cosmo and limits being too high for me (I did find a $10 craps on Monday evening). Also when I was downtown time was limited and and I wanted to play the VP I like there as well.

That being said I came home with about 1k from my bankroll so that is good, I didn't lose it all. Mrs. Wanker...not so much.

Also as part of the ugly I left our picture with a million dollars from Binions in either the Lyft or Fremont. Not a big deal but I am really said I lost it.

You are correct, I didn't follow along. Sorry for the losses, but there is always next time!

Now let's focus on the good, the trip, being in Vegas and being in Vegas with my wife!

    Friday

We were able to score an earlier flight, no one in the middle seat. Seems this is where my luck ran out. Lol.

Get to cosmo about 11pm. I put an anniversary card on the pillow while wife was on balcony with the surprise Celine tickets and hair appointment. Grabbed an egg slut for dinner, then on to gamble. I started at the book bar, most of the gambling is in the main TR. Went to bed early around 230 am.

    Saturday

I get up before Mrs. Wanker (always do) then go down to make some CFB bets and play machines. While watching CFB at book I got a breakfast burrito, very good. Mrs. Wanker asked me to bring food up, no time for that I am busy losing money, so I have her order room service. She got a giant chicken sandwich. Room service is expensive but also very good at Cosmo.

She gets ready and I drop her off for her hair appointment, I slot around a bit. I got the skill space invaders bonus, was fun. Lucky I found a machine with 40 shots waiting on it. Then to airplane (thanks for tip @irishdave) I get ready, suit up then off to Caesars for dinner at Mesa before Celine.

Mesa grill is amazing and highly recommended, thanks everyone for the tips! I had the tenderloin and wife had chicken. Both were very flavorful and very good!

Celine is an amazing talent still. She did address the shooting, but did it well and had me tear up a bit. She sings very well. Downside is she takes a good 20 minutes of the show introducing and talking to a few band members and back up singers all while trying to tell jokes. It felt like an intermission, it was boring and really brought the show to a halt. Full disclosure she is not my favorite so maybe this is biased. I did love the show when she was performing though, that was exceptional.

After that we played a bit a Caesars while crowd thinned out then went to Flamingo to play a little bit, which was longer than I thought! We planned to do Cromwell and Paris but it was too late and I would rather have my play at Cosmo since I am on an offer there. We walked through bally's shops and stop for a Dole Whip. We didn't get the boozy one, but it was really good. Then on to cosmo to lose more and then to bed at 430 am for me.

I should play at Chicago pizza, you seem to do well there.

    Sunday

Awoke before Mrs. Wanker but sadly after the morning NFL slate started. I got up and bet an afternoon parley (stupid ravens) played some VP/Slots. Then I brought up breakfast for myself and wife from the Henry. We ate that on the balcony and enjoyed the afternoon breeze.

After we got ready it was time to head downtown. First stop El Cortez. Now these are words you rarely hear from anyone but upon walking in ElCo, Mrs. Wanker says "I like it here" after the fact that didn't change. I think she is a keeper! I played on her card so she could get new player promo (spin on wheel at 300 points) she won an ice cream bar! Then at 600 pick an envelope for 10-1k free play. She got $10. We also chose ElCo to take advantage of the ATM promo, sadly it is no more. I played Downtown Deuces, a machine I didn't know existed until an @Royal Flusher TR. Sadly no quad 2's for me. We also played Vacation which was a lot of fun. I couldn't hit on my Vegas Vacation Keno numbers this time.

After that we had to meet up with @vegasnuts and @smerrian at MSS for dinner at 777. @smerrian was nice enough to treat us to dinner with his points. Thank you. This was a lot of fun, both guys are fun to hang with and talk with, like old friends. I had a huge Cuban sandwich, it was very good. Then off to Boars head for a few beer and VP. I did get 2 $2 scratch cards.

Head over to GG for UTH. Their new slot section is amazing, done very nice. UTH was nice to me I hit like 5 full houses in a short amount of time. I used the @pookie method of putting any wins in a different stack from my buy in. Kept me disciplined to leave with a win.

A walk down Fremont to Binions to get out picture taken with $1mil and double ball roulette. Then on to Fremont where my .25 treasure chests were taken, so I played $1 instead but couldn't get anything going (again). I also played DB deuces, poor paytable be damned, as I hit 5 Aces. My best VP hit of the trip. Then a few slots at Fremont with the wife. We headed back to the Cosmo. I wanted to play at more properties but time constraints didn't allow it. We were even downtown for over 8 hrs too. But I didn't want to short play boyd and mess up offers there. I do love downtown and honestly I like my split trip better than 4 night at Cosmo on strip.

Back to Cosmo for another 4 night.

    Monday

Monday was our Cosmo only day up again at 10 AM I headed down to play some more (seeing a pattern here?) Then I get wife and I a breakfast panini from Va Bene and bring it up to here (lucky lady). We hang out in room together, get our Bears gear on and head down. I played craps pre-game. I rolled well made 4 points once and 2 another time. Had some drunk husband and wife placing bets down as I was about to shoot, keeping hands on the table (pit even told waitress to make his drink only OJ) I smarty played the don't when his wife shot. They were annoying and everyone at table was bothered by them. Funny interaction with Stick man when he asked if I liked the Cubs to which I replied "no I fucking hate them". Turned out he is from the same south suburb I am from (5 years younger than me). I didn't know him though.

Then time for the Bears game. I had my bets in the Bears and Hawks on the tvs in front of me, I was in heaven. I even had to kick someone out of my reserved seat! The game went well and honestly the VP went well as well. I lost $100 but that lasted almost the whole game. The game itself was very fun, and surprisingly competitive. I wish I was on the point spread though.

After we had a wonderful meal at Zuma, if it had been on your radar, please go. It is well worth it. Couple next to us didn't like the family style, food comes out when it is ready method, and also got charged for a bottle they didn't get. I get being upset at the latter but not the former as waitress explained it all to you when you come in. We got the lobster, the tenderloin and the veggie tempura. The old fashioned is to die for! Cannot recommend higher.

Then we played down for a bit more together, wife got to try the Mr. Myagi. I used my FP and $100 each on $5 pinball. Couldn't hit a damn thing. She had to work for a bit so I was alone. Like a mad man I bounced from bar to to slot to slot trying to make the best of my last night. I did hit a $250 on $5 Wof on my first and only spin. I went back up about 4 am to find an empty room. I tried to call and text Ms. Wanker but no response so I hit the bed. Turned out she went down about 315 and didn't get up till 530! She did better than that last night, went down with $300 up with $350 was able to get hits to keep her going. I wish we had more of those small to medium hits this trip but it wasn't meant to be.

    General Thoughts
All in all we had a wonderful trip, no problems with service or anything that would disrupt the trip. As for the mood in Vegas if you didn't know about the shooting at Mandalay you wouldn't have noticed a difference. It was as busy as usual and mood was no different in the casino and on the strip than normal. Comforting but also sad a little bit too.

I made friend at late night sports book, a man from Jordan, who talked my ear off. Nice guy though and good company. He credited me and my good nature for his keno win the one night we didn't see each other. (His losses from the 1st night cause he let a women touch him) Wonder if I touched him if I would have the same effect [emoji4] or do only women weaken legs?

As for drink tickets I did use the @BayouBengal method of getting room Fiji waters. But even then I cannot keep up. Admittedly I didn't drink as much as I did before due to a new medical issue (diabetic) and while I don't drink all that much at home a few drinks a week, I wanted to be careful this first time drinking more heavy to gauge how I do. So I walked around like Welker at the Derby but instead of passing out $100s I passed out Sports book tickets. If someone set down next to me (my middle eastern friend benefited from this) I gave them a ticket. Gave a few to the people at Zuma complaining (should have asked for em back how they were acting) and a few other random people on the floor. I hate to have them go to waste!

Thanks all who read, whether it was whole trip or after, liked, and special thanks to all who commented, if I didn't reply directly to your comment my apologies. I try my best to do so. I am in Vegas depression now. My wife pointed out that I will be back in Jan (3-7) taking my niece (21) for 1st time. But it is different kind of down now at home. Cause that time in Jan I will not be with my wife. We rarely travel together without the kids, and at home with all the stress having kids and work brings were aren't the same as out in Vegas (or anywhere for that matter on vacation) and alone time without kids is few and far between. Probably more of that than leaving Vegas in general.

The start of the trip with everything going on was tough, but once I got there I was able to have a normal Vegas trip. Don't let this shooting keep you away.

I still have the scent of the cosmo in my nose. Does the happen to anyone else? Last night I could still hear the sounds of the casino too while trying to sleep.

It was great meeting you and Mrs. Wanker. Enjoyed dinner and getting to put together faces and names. Great to read about your feelings about Celine Dion and her show. Loved the personal feelings of hair appointments, wife crying over how much you love her, wife having the nerve to bother you for breakfast while you're playing slots...get room service, I'm in the middle of something! I don't understand how to read a sports bet ticket but after meeting you would assume you're the right person to teach someone. Glad you're back home safe and sound.

I don't know anything about sports. I don't know any names. (I believe there's a Brady with NE and a Rothen..... [something 20 letters long] from the Steelers as I'm originally from Pgh). I'd have more success trying to learn Mandarin. o_O But, thanks for being there if needed.

Thanks for the excellent recap. I'm not surprised that the mood in Vegas is almost like nothing happened. It is sad, but usually after the original reaction to hearing about it on the news, which was shocking, if you, your family, friends or someone you know was directly affected by the massacre, people just go on and party on. Especially in Vegas. Actually, it becomes like an attraction now. Another place to take pictures of and post on social media. Horrible!!

It's really hard to parse that out without having a sense of the breakout of VP, slots and tables. But let's just assume no tables at Cosmo.

$1,226 theo on $17,000 coin in would be 7.2%, which would lean towards, I would just ballpark, about a 60/40 split on the coin in between VP and slots.

A $3,000 loss on $1,226 theo is 2.5x theo which is what I'd put at the pretty far end of the unlucky range, especially if the VP proportion is right. A $3,000 loss on $17,000 coin-in all on slots wouldn't be outrageous, but your theo would be closer to $1,700 - $2,000.

Coming home with a grand left is nice though and it sounded like a fun trip.
