Thank you!! That's what Vegas is, something for everyone. Even my least favorites i still visit the properties even if i just walk through. Variety is the spice of life. You can gamble like a low roller at Aria, or a High Roller at Flamingo.
Doesn't matter, i've been to Vegas in the 70's, 80's, 90's, 2000's, and currently the 2010's, and hopefully the 2020's.
I know many people in here will disagree, but the Vegas "Strip" still is a bargain, always has, always will.
As Billy Joel once said........."i'm in a Las Vegas state of mind".

If I had to pick one it would be Monte Carlo. It's just a bit soulless. Probably even more so now with the renovation going on. We also encountered poor customer service last time we stayed there. That has put me off ever staying there again.

Back in the I/P days, a 20 year old could go to Vegas, if they were staying there....they'd turn 21 by the time the elevator arrived on the first floor to get them to their room!

I guess Tropicana and Harrahs due to the fact they just have zero draw for me. Tropicana is out of the way so no reason to stop in there and Harrahs is just to easy to walk right past.
CP since I had dinner reservations there 2 times and both of them I felt like the maze runner trying to find my restaurant.

I have no opinion on SLS, have not been there and might never. To far away and no reason. I will stop at The STRAT occasionally to go to the top and have a few drinks maybe before heading downtown. Excal does not bother me it serves a purpose for family and budget minded. MB is probably my favorite, it is nice without that pretentious feeling. Just wish it had a better location.

Me and the little woman sometimes go our separate ways inside a casino. And there are times either
she doesn't know I've texted my current location to her or the cell service is bad. The deal is that if we
get separated and she can't find me to just go back up to the room. It's happened a few times.

Another vote for CP because it is too big! My wife has said she never wants to stay there because she doesn't want to spend half her vacation finding our room!

    Good thread @MikeOPensacola !

    My least favorites:
Flamingo - the casino is dirty - ashes on the slot machines, chairs, floors, discarded cigarette packs etc; rarely saw anyone cleaning up. Maybe it has changed, but we no longer even go in there. (have never stayed there).

Caesar's - too disjointed, I never get the 'comfort vibe' or have a sense of where I am - the same goes for DH - calling each other "where are you, I've walked the whole place and couldn't find you", and then trying to describe exactly where to find me, lol. (I feel your pain @Sonya) :(. We've stayed there twice but hated the longggggg walks from room to casino.

Great thread. A lot of psychology in these answers....have I done well at property 'x'? If so, I probably like it more than not. Conversely, if I've not done well, it's more likely to make the list. So many things go into liking a property or not. I've stayed at most strip properties and certainly been through them all, so my top 3 least favorites are:

    3. CP- just way too big to navigate, bad BJ rules at lower limits (horrible). We avoid walking in here as it's an hour lost trying to get out.
    2. Excal- just not my thing. No need to slam it beyond that.
    1. Monte Carlo- it's just a depressing place in a great location, with a ton of potential. The Brew Pub is (was) the only good thing about it. There's no 'vibe' to it at all...always very quiet and dark. Hopefully the new Park renovations spruce it up.

From a gambling point of view, CP as well. I never seem to win so I stopped playing there. It almost feels like it's fixed.

Same with us, hence the taxi back to Golden Nugget.

We had parked at TI and wandered through Mirage to see Secret Garden. Ended up at Caesars. Dan went back to TI to get the car and was supposed to meet me at the valet. Oops.. apparently there were three of them. Spent 90 minutes trying to find each other. We had dinner reservations at Stratosphere . I headed back to GN to get ready and hope Dan would turn up.

We did make it to dinner, only about 15 minutes late. I was really looking forward to our sunset dinner up there and was pretty sure we were going to miss it.

    ,

Yep... back in the early 2000's, I (Nevada) hosted a nationwide conference for the profession I was in at the time. We had about 300 attendees, if I recall, from all over the nation. I was proud to have it in Nevada and show off Las Vegas. We held the conference at Caesar's. The conference rooms, of course, are in the back and as already noted above, the place is big and maze like. Following the conference, we got hammered in the evaluations for the choice of venue. By far, most of the negative comments were about all the walking, getting lost, etc... but we even had a substantial number of "anonymous" complaints about having the conference in a gaming establishment and the trouble some attendees had getting approval to travel to Las Vegas, Nevada for business. Not everyone, I found out, shares our passion for Vegas.

I am fairly easy to please and think each casino has a niche which it serves. Yet in thinking which casinos I do not stop by, it would be Tropicana.

That was probably from the room I stayed in about 6yrs ago. Nothing like black water coming up from the shower drain.

Just wanted to add that my second least favorite casino is one that I avoid due to my own personal superstition.
I avoid BALLY's because of all the people that died in the fire there when it was the original MGM Grand.

Video from the MGM Grand Fire (now Bally's)

    I have 2.
    • Linq.... lipstick on a pig (I think someone said that earlier) and their lame attempt to bring back O'Sheas.
    • Here's one I haven't seen mentioned yet - Cosmopolitan. Brings a lot of young kids in... I go to Vegas to get away from the kids! Stay here when I go w/ wife because she likes the decor and vibe... stay far away when she's not with me :) And no poker room, meh...

You were doin' real good, right up to there. 'Cause that right there - that's just blatant fiction, bordering on heresy. How do I know?
On account of The King himself once decreed "...If you see it once, you'll never be the same again"! So there! Proof!

Seriously though, I am familiar with a couple of guys who got vetoed on a conference because it was in Vegas. Spousal trust issues, maybe.
But yep, very understandable if perception constitutes reality.

These were actually state government accounting/travel approvals that were rejected because of the destination. A couple of the folks actually ended up taking annual-leave and personally paying for the travel to attend... now that's professional dedication... OR a REAL love for Las Vegas!!!
