I get so many people on VMB and on other social media platforms who felt intimidated by learning bingo, that the Plaza has decided to start free Bingo lessons Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays! 10:15am and 4:15pm. Learn what a rainbow and a hotball are all about. Lessons are 100 % free and fun for all ages (over 21 of course.)

So if you are in the Vegas area, feel free to attend in our brand new renovated Bingo room (still has that new carpet smell.) Pics below! Any questions, feel free to ask!

There is a few rows in the back that are smoking but the room is so big, it's a non issue if the smoke bothers you.

That was a good move....I always hated walking thru all the smoke just to get to a seat.

Right? I don't want to poo-poo the poor Plaza host (say that 10 times fast) but what is taught in these sessions? Here is a fat marker. Here is a sheet of paper with numbers. Over there is a person that will say a number. You see it on your sheet, you stamp said sheet until you get 5 in a row.

If your intimidation level beings at color by numbers, and your skill level is far below crossword puzzles, no amount of teaching will help you play Bingo.

If anything, being under 70 and entering a room full of bored Blue-hairs would intimidate me!

I like playing bingo but and I’ve been playing for a while but was lost playing at Gold Coast - like I still don’t know what a rainbow is - so I appreciate Plaza offering these classes and plan to stop by on my next trip.

Maybe I’ll dye my hair blue to better intimidate the young’ns.

I know the game, but I haven't played since grade school. I don't know how to buy in, what comps I could get, and what a Rainbow or a hot ball is. I also don't know what a Hot Carl is, but that's a different thread.

Know nothing of the plaza set up but know at Gold Coast you can have your cards automatically tallied for you. No mess no fat markers. You could nap if with the right people.
Not sure how much fun THAT is though. O-64. One of my favs.

Two beers or cocktails gratis; just show your receipt to the bartender.

Even if you are familiar with the basics of bingo. Good idea to take this class if you arent familiar with las vegas bingo. By not you could miss out on one of the specials like the big 3 progressive..several thousand dollars. I've played out there before but think I will catch this class just to refresh myself.

Grid, come on, I expect better of you :)

Obviously you haven't played bingo in Vegas. Me neither! But I do know the days of the "fat marker" are long gone.

I looked into the Plaza bingo room about a year ago and was intimidated just as if I'd walked up to a craps table.

Like bnlphan mentioned 2 posts above, it sounds like it is more like Keno now with special ways. I'd like to try bingo at the Plaza one day just to give it a try, just like I enjoyed and played Keno for my first few years in Vegas!

it has been years since I have played bingo. I know it has been modernized. I would love to check it out someday at the Plaza, but not by myself.

The new machines are very different from everywhere else. They are not Hansprees. So no peek mode.

    Hall is great.

Won $2950 tonight at 7pm cash ball plus there new extra bonus balls.

Sure you can make fun of Bingo but there are a lot of people who play but are scared to call bingo incase its a mistake or does not understand a dual or bonanza/Grande.

I like the new hall. Fresh carpet, machines, new blower. It is nice

I am happy they are doing this. I used to play some bingo years ago...but I went to play at the Plaza last year was somewhat lost.
They were playing different games I had never heard of and I had never used an electronic score keeper.
A few minutes of instruction to familiarize us with everything is a good idea.
