That whole complex (Commercial Center) strikes me as being very down-and-outish, and I suspect many of the buildings there are not in the best of shape.

Bummer. Some of my favorite spots are in Commercial Plaza.

Yeah, I think that was a bit of the allure early on. The hidden gem in a somewhat rundown, off-strip location that you had to go out of your way to get to. I would think that after so many years of success and a solid reputation, that they could move to a nicer spot without losing any customers and possibly gaining some new diners. Just a thought. On a slightly different note, has anybody here been to this place? http://www.nittayassecretkitchen.com All the way in Summerlin, but seems to get great reviews from yelp and trip advisor.

Sorry to hear about this... it's a very popular spot. On a related note, thank goodness this didn't happen to the main kitchen at Ellis Island or 20 VMBers would've immediately had a stroke!

    You can always try
    Arawan
it is located in one of the center retail areas, right across from Lotus. They have very good Thai food and amazing desserts.

Aw man, I'm sorry to hear this! This is one of our favorite places in Vegas. Had it not been for hurricane Harvey forcing us to cancel our Vacation we would have been in Vegas now. I would have been majorly upset if I was in Vegas and tried to go out there only to find it closed. Hope they opened back up soon and aren't unduly impacted by the closure.

It has been many years since we went to Nittay's, but we really enjoyed our meal. It is small plates so we tried several including their wonderful tempura spinach salad. The other standouts were the stuffed chicken wing and house made coconut ice cream.

Commercial plaza is a very strange place. It looks like a dump, feels like a ghetto, yet there are plenty of thriving restaurants there. You would never think Lotus of Siam was that highly touted from just looking at it's locations, yet there is a crowd out in front every Monday when I'm there at the plaza for a hockey game at the Sahara event center(roller hockey arena) on the other side. It's always buzzing with Uber and cabs lined up.

For what its worth, just got a text that my reservation for next Monday night is cancelled due to the restaurant being closed "due to some unexpected problems". It is one of our favorite places to eat in Las Vegas.:(

NO!!!!! I knew I should have made my pilgrimage last time I was in town.

Thai St. Cafe had better check the rafters or I'll have no place to go... for Thai food...

Thanks! Will have to try it next time I'm there. That salad looks pretty tempting, lots of others look good too.

Great! Not far from where we stay most of our trips. Still haven't tried it. Maybe this next trip is the one.

I am very excited about the new location. I hit the Flamingo and Paradise Rd area when I stop by the Citibank branch that is on Paradise about a block from that intersection. On a not too hot day you could walk there from the strip or it's a short bus ride or a very short cab ride if you staying center strip. I wouldn't be surprised if the new location is more popular with visitors given what I view as a better location in terms of proximity to strip hotels. It's also a pretty safe area.
