With Floyd making noise about 8oz gloves, I think the NSAC is having a discussion, as to whether they allow the use of 8oz.

Yeah, but pushing the opponent to the ground doesn't count as a knockdown in boxing :poke:

I don't know anything about boxing, but how much can McGregor improve in 2 weeks? I'm referring to if Lomanchenko sparred with him.

I want to watch the match, and have found a few bars near me that are showing it for $30. I wouldn't pay more than that.

I booked a hotel, just in case tickets weren't stupid... Who was I kidding

I can pay for all my flights/accom for the WSOP next year, for the price of a 7 day trip for this.

Got some friends coming round for a game of cards, and watching it at home.

My understanding was that it's Conor's camp floating the notion of using 8 oz. gloves... ain't gonna happen.

Quite the contrary. It was Floyd that suggested it, a couple weeks ago.

NSAC are having a hearing next week to decide if they'll allow it.

I feel like that was more of an ad for his partnership with Grant than an honest attempt to move to 8oz. But like with the fight in general, I will believe it when I see it. Everything up to then is just talk.

Nice of the guy to let them off $40k :D

Floyd is drifting here, which is great, and will hopefully continue. Much like it did when he fought Ricky Hatton.

I don't usually bet at such short prices, but I will feel obliged to if he keeps going the same way.

Undoubtedly, but whatever it was, the NSAC are meeting this week to discuss it with both camps.

That'll be the easiest $120k that guy ever makes. That's what investing is all about - having dry powder when an unusual opportunity comes along.

Possibly silly question... since the fight times have been announced (9 pm EST, 6 pm PST), does anyone know if the Floyd/Conor fight is going to be at that time, or if there will be preliminary matches before that?

I ask because I'm working that night, and just want to get a sense of how early I have to try and sneak out to watch it.

He didn't. That ticket was cancelled. Replaced it with two tickets at $440k each (South Point system wouldn't allow more than 1 mil payout on any individual ticket)

There is a long list of prelim matches, but I don't know what time the main event is scheduled

Do you suspect it will be at least two hours? I recall it being at least that long for May/Pac, but I'm very inexperienced with how these things usually go.

I think there are 4 pre-fights. Two hours should be no problem.

Easily 2 hrs. There's no way it starts before 11 est. And I would wager much closer to midnight.
