I'm looking to book a hotel on the strip for our anniversary, 3 nights for the end of September. We are newly 50, but feel like were much younger! We don't party like we're 21 but we don't go to bed early either. We don't mind noise or crowds, we like an upbeat vibe.

We have stayed at Treasure Island with our kids, we thought it was fun and nice but didn't really gamble there. We've stayed at the Bellagio, it was beautiful, but a little stuffy for us and if I remember correctly, it seems like it was expensive to gamble there.

I'm looking for your favorite hotels with upbeat fun casinos, restaurants, pools etc. It doesn't have to be the top rated 5 star hotels. I'm not sure I can afford to gamble, eat or shop there anyway :) My husband enjoys playing black jack, I like to play roulette and we are both novice craps players, but really liked it last time.

The room doesn't have to be huge or have a great view. I really just want it to be clean and not really look worn out. We would like the hotel to have a good variety of eating options too, casual, quick, nice, etc.

We've been asking friends for recommendations, and their suggestions were the Flamingo, Linq, Aria, Wynn, Monte Carlo. The Aria and Wynn look wonderful, The Flamingo and Linq look like fun and good locations but the reviews on the Flamingo rooms are all over the board. The Linq room reviews say the rooms are good but small.

I would love any suggestions, Thanks!

We are also going to spend two nights on Fremont Street, I need to make a decision on that hotel as well.

my happy medium between quality and value on the strip is Paris. Decent price, relatively easy to get comped, and a great location.

Agree with Paris....just classy & get a burgundy or red room....views may not be important but a fountain view is special & you may appreciate it. The food options there or just a short walk away are terrific.....table games are usually always busy & everyone has a fun time when I have been there.

I am an Aria fan, stay there pretty much all the time now, although my coming trip is at MGM. I think it hits your criteria pretty well. You can almost always find a $10 craps table in the evenings when the whole pit is open. If they have a limited number of tables open you are probably looking at a $15 min. Their roulette mins are typically $15. Blackjack on the main floor is going to be 6:5 and you are looking at $15 to start too. I am not sure if those mins are above what you are looking for, but the property is wonderful. I like their pools, the have a nice vibe are pretty laid back and I think the wait service is on top of things. The food options are right up there with anything on the strip, at all points on the spectrum you can get a good meal. I like the location, some hate how far off the strip it is, but I am mobile 40-something who likes to get up and move around in the morning and have no issues.

Having not stayed at PH and Cosmo, I can't give a detailed response, but both would fit the bill nicely too I think.

I am not a fan of the lower end CET properties, some people love them, I just don't care for them.

I would also probably stay on Fremont first then move to the strip. Whatever you decide I'm sure you'll have a great time. Good luck!

If budget isn't a concern, I would go with Cosmopolitan.
Fun upbeat casino, many food places (secret pizza) !
If it is a concern, than I would go with Planet Hollywood.
Rooms are clean, casino upbeat, affordable gaming. and also many cheap eats!

For everything you said you are and like. Paris gets my vote. Nice places to eat, instead of a loud club full of kids, you have a nice dueling piano bar. Great select of games in the casino, and a fantastic setting to play in.

The cobblestone streets, the fun buffet, the whimsical shops, a good chance of a room that overlooks the Bellagio fountain. Romantic settings galore, take your sweetie up to the top of the tower!

Decent enough pool and great location. Paris wins! And it is probably the cheapest of all the places mentioned already (except those that already said Paris!)

Venetian/Palazzo gets my vote. There are countless choices for food, the casino is pretty good, the property is beautiful, the rooms are big (thats a bonus since you didnt care about room size), the energy is great throughout both hotels, you have shopping and youre across the street from Wynn/Encore and Mirage. Its been our home base for many years and we literally go there for days and do not even need to leave the hotel.

My vote would have to be The Cosmopolitan.

Food there is top notch, although a little pricey.
    Atmosphere is upbeat and fun.
Comps at Cosmo are great, and I think are the easiest to earn.
Most rooms are going to have a balcony you can walk out on and take in the views of either the strip, or the Bellagio Fountains.
The Chandelier bar is a sight to see, great drinks as well.

These are some of the reasons Cosmo is my home base, and my go to Casino.

I would also vote for Paris. It's the best bank for your buck in Vegas. Clean comfortable rooms, when CET was more generous with us comped rooms for 5 nights with no resort fees. Unfortunately those days are over, but I still get decent rates there. You also can't beat the location. The Cosmo is very nice also, but I think the op doesn't care if it's a large room.

it all depends what you like and what your budget is......i stayed at some nice properties as caesars(no suite) and Paris (calais suite which was awesome) but also in the beginning at the imperial palace(now linque)..the last few years i stay at bally's(jubilee room) in combination with the good deal i get from my host (and being diamond at cet) this is perfect for me....my suggestion would be depending on how much it will cost for you Paris or Bally's.........its just a bit nicer than the linque or flamingo.......its all a matter of taste as well..some people love the flamingo swimming pool but for me its a bit too crowded and loud and i prefer the paris pool(always look down to it from my room)

To answer the question posed in your thread's title: My favorite Casino Hotel? Caesars. However, it's about finding a hotel that meets your expectations. As others have suggested, Paris or PH would probably be a good fit for you.

+1 Paris. Paris has a slight edge with me because it has a great theme, relatively quick access to strip and connected to Bally's so 2 resorts in one. The pool is a more relaxed experience. Also have access to Bally's pool which has a deep end and gets morning sun. Burgundy rooms are the freshest. Avoid the threadbare Classic rooms.

+1 Planet Hollywood. PH has a younger vibe and you mentioned that as a factor. The casino has a party atmosphere, especially later. PH is the budget Cosmo. (Linq is the budget PH) Many dining and entertainment options. Attached to the Miracle Mile Mall. There are 2 pools onsite, one is 21+. All the rooms have been redone in the past year or so. Bigger bathrooms.

Rates fluctuate. Pais is usually less, but not always. When checking for my upcoming trip PH was less. Not needing a room with a view will make it cheaper...and quieter. Use this link to find current promos. Sometimes using promo code "Insider" will give a lower rate.

If you plan on spending ALOT of time at the pool, do give a look at Mirage. Good location and the pool is the best in this price range. But the pool gets very crowded, rooms are beginning to show age (not worn out though) and you would need to book "Resort Tower" category to get a bathroom functional for two.

My wife and I love the Mirage. Great location, we do well in the Casino, and one of the Best Pools on the strip.

If budget allows, Cosmopolitan has a great vibe without being stuffy. It's more expensive in every way, but just as nice as Bellagio or any other high end property without the stuffy feel. For lower budget, Go rooms at the Flamingo are a favorite for us. We will take a Go room at the Flamingo over PH any day. I think the vibe is more relaxed and fun. It's a party atmosphere without a lot of the 21-25 yr old California crowd.

+1 Paris for all the reasons previously stated and the casino gets a good vibe from the nightly entertainment in the Le Cabaret Bar.
