    Aisle.

Towards the front, if I'm making a short connection. Otherwise, front, middle or back is fine.

Exit row is nice, but seems like many carriers are making these "premium' seats, and charging extra.

On the rare occasions I fly 1st class, I usually select the 2nd row, for reasons others stated.

Assuming I will be drinking on the flight, I'll take the aisle just because I'll probably use the bathroom.

If not I prefer the window so I can sleep if I want.

Oh and and on southwest it is Aisle in the back since the odds of getting noone in the middle seat are far far better.

I prefer the window towards the front. Right side if on the way to Vegas.

Aisle as close to the front as possible. If I need to pee I want to be able jump up and go, and towards the front because WHY DOES IT TAKE 2 HOURS TO GET YOUR BAGS OUT OF THE OVERHEAD??? LEAVE THE PLANE!!! sorry.

My wife and I usually prefer to sit 3/4 of the way to the back of the plane. We prefer being towards the back for the increased chance of not having a 3rd person in our row (Southwest first class) but not all the way back so we aren't TOO close to the bathroom in case it smells. We will however keep an eye out for young kids (who might be noisy, smelly, or rambunctious) and try to not sit too close to them. I prefer the isle but my wife prefers the window so I usually end up in the middle (my least favorite seat).

Walking front to back, left side 2/3 to 3/4 of the way back on the aisle. Close to bathroom, but not too close. Better chance to find extra overhead storage if plane isn't full.

I prefer more towards the back. I'm never late but I do prefer to board closer to last because I dont like waiting for everyone to get in and situated.

I like to sit in the aisle seat. Its not any more room but it feels like more room.

I got bumped on a flight to Florida in February and got a $500 voucher for American Airlines. I used it to fly first class to Las Vegas last week and now I don't know if I can go back to coach.

Aisle seat, rear of plane, about three rows rows from rear exit door. I have to sit at the back of the plane because I am paranoid. I do not want anything happening on the plane behind me, that I cannot see.I want everything in front of me.

Day flights: As far forward as possible without being in front row. Aisle. Left side.
Red eyes: Distant from galleys and lavatories to avoid noise. Window. Right heading east. Left heading west. (Which ever side the sun will be on so I can keep the shade shut.)

On the flight into LV I always try to get a window on the left side. Good view of Hoover Dam and Lake Mead. The left side also gives a great view of the strip, especially at night. The rest of the trip I prefer the aisle, less of a hassle if I have to get up and use the restroom. If I have a connecting flight with a thin margin of time I try to sit as close to the front of the plane as possible.

I prefer non-bulkhead, but on some flights the first coach row is ok if there isn't a divider doesn't go all the way to the floor and I can still put my back under the seat ahead. I want to be on the less sunny side of the plane so that I can have the window shade opened, but not totally be blasted by the sun. The exception to this will be on Aug 21 when I'm flying to Calgary during the eclipse!

Aisle. Window seats make me have to use the restroom.

Flying solo I book a middle seat somewhere doesn't really matter. Then if the plane isn't full nobody wants to sit next to you or have a stranger between them. If the plane is full it's usually a couple and they prefer to sit next to each other so I can get a window or an isle if I want

When I fly First Class, I always go for the first row, window - left side as you walk in... that first row allows plenty of room for getting up & past your row-mate if I need to hit the can... and I always get my 'tarmac cocktail' quickly.

In coach, I always check out the exit row seats on SW, but despite my EB 'A group' boarding, they're always gone by the time I board... one thing I have learned on SW - do not - EVER - sit in rows 15 or 16....you are the very last people on the plane to get drinks in those rows.

But in coach, I still prefer the window, as I typically only need one (or none) restroom break on any flight...which tends to be less than others, who would be needing me to get up from the aisle seat so that they can go!
