I stop in once a trip.
Good for a cheap breakfast buffet (especially with the LVA 2/1 coupon).
I always give them a little craps play(no more BJ since 6/5) and run some money through a machine or two.

Like the sportsbook. It's got that old school feel which is fine by me..

I have stayed in both rooms, Tower much better. Views of mts. vegas. Comps were always inconsistent with me. I did hit a couple of royals in maybe 10 stays.

Lots of work going on now. Be prepared to navigate lots of construction throughout your stay. If the room is tower room, those aren't bad. If it's a courtyard room, run as fast as you can. I stayed one night in one of those and quickly moved to a different hotel.

the cafe has great breakfast. It isn't a young person's place. I love it:) Much better odds than the strip. Friendly.

If this is a solo trip, or just with friends, I would definitely book Palace. Save the nicer resort stays for the time(s) when you go with someone special.

    Some advantages:

    (1) Low limit tables. You can sometimes even find a $5 table in the morning. Nice way to kill time.
    (2) Easy access. One complaint I have about resorts like the MGM is that it feels like a trek from the parking structure to the room. There's outdoor parking at the Palace, with a short walk to the hotel/casino.
    (3) Cheap eats. The Oyster Bar is supposed to be faboo, but the buffet is decent as well. Very moderately-priced.
    (4) Conveniently-located. You're right down the street from the Palazzo and Wynn. Walking distance to several banks to replenish your bankroll - or deposit your winnings. Also within a stone's throw from other neighborhood eats, so you're not just stuck with the options at the Palace.

Now to answer your questions. Mini-bac? They had it when I last visited. Clientele? Definitely skew local, and pretty proletariat.

Final judgment? Great place for a home base if you're single and looking to hop around. Trying to impress someone? Try the Cosmo.

Dickens pretty much hit all the nails on the heads...

Its a good old school casino, I smoke when I drink and gamble, so the smoke is of little consequence to me...For others not so much. Full of locals and old school gamblers. I don't use the words "low rollers" to describe the clientele there, because I've seen dudes in there with knots of cash the size of a softball gambling. Not going to see the Day Club crowds here though, that's for sure.

Go spend a few hours there, I don't think you'll regret it. I cant honestly speak to the food. I did have a slice of pizza at Tonys, at my wife's behest because I was just absolutely hammered, and hadn't eaten anything in a good long while..She said I raved about it - and she ate a couple of bites, and loved it. I'm going to have to eat at Tony's before I down 5 or 6 vodka tonics this upcoming trip. Overall a nice break from the strip, and kind of dated, but in a cool, not dirty and old way.

    From our communication:

We are currently in the process of renovating our floor, and I’m sorry to say we don’t have a high limit area at the moment. Our floor will be wonderful when complete, but during the construction it’s necessary to make pit moves that may be challenging. I wanted to be very honest up front so you didn’t get here and feel inconvenienced and then in turn never give us a shot again.

I will speak with the Director of Table Games as soon as he gets in today and ask him for a time line on the floor moves and get back to you as soon as I can.

We stopped by for the breakfast buffet with the BOGO in the American Casino Guide. 2 people for less than $10 was pretty awesome!

    Enjoying reading all these comments.

This is where I'm going to be staying in a few weeks for my first Vegas visit. Done a lot of research into it and yes, it doesn't have all the thrills and whistles of the big hotels like MGM, Planet Hollywood etc it seems very decent. But I've stayed in hostels and shared rooms with 5 other men before now so I'm not too picky.

Very affordable which is a must for me. Cheap buffet. Cheap tables and yeah, it looks okay.

For me, I've booked a 15 night stay for around £900 ($1150), that's including flights and resort fee! Although the resort fee has just gone up by about $5 a day so might be a little more now. I couldn't get that price anywhere else near the strip or even off the strip. Yes, I've contacted the hotel and airline, it's all confirmed!

Hey MikeH from Wales—just so you know, Palace Station is pretty far away from everything else. What looks like "walking distance" on the map is a major haul in Vegas, especially in summer heat.

If it's not too late, for a first trip I'd consider one of the inexpensive joints in downtown Vegas: the Fremont, Four Queens, El Cortez, The Plaza, The D. It's a nonstop party there!

Aye I know I couldn't walk it, there is the motorway in the way and the distance. The Hotel does have a "free" shuttle to and from the hotel throughout the day and during the evening I'll use Uber.

Far too late, it's already paid for.

:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: from an Australian tourist, tower room only [ didn't like the look of the other rooms on offer downstairs, creepy. ] Bus passes by there regularly, so no problem. My second choice for value after Fremont Street area, enjoy your visit there.

They should honour the resort fee that was current at the time of booking if it's just gone up. Just have your original paperwork ready, and they should give you the lower price.

Normally I'd agree but I booked through a third party, that's how I got it so cheap so doubt they would honour that.
