Nah, it's technically a bonus game. The quads pay out exactly like traditional bonus poker. That plus the two pair paying 5 why the game's payback is bad, 94.18%. It's the worst that the D offers at the Long Bar. But the Vue Bar upstairs offers 8/5 Bonus where 2 pair pays 10 and that is 99.17% plus the generous progressive meters.

Actually in all the VP pics, I would have played Bonus instead of Jacks, except at the Long Bar where he played Bonus....lol At the Long Bar, I would have played either 8/6 Bonus Deluxe (98.49%) or 7/5 ACE$ Bonus (98.25%).

Actually at nearly every CET Strip bar @TxTeach79, Jacks or Better is a "redundant" game at the bar. CET's version of "Bonus" Poker is very similar to JoB. It has the exact same paytable in every way except they pay an extra 25 coins on every quad (150 vs. 125)! So I would always suggest playing Bonus over JoB. Strategy is virtually the same.

    Example from PHo:

Great report and awesome to hear about the Cromwell adding a quick service restaurant. Will have to look into that.

Good question, I'm honestly not sure. I forgot Canter's was coming soon, that's right!

You reminded me - I'm not sure if it's a new thing or it was because it was a holiday weekend, but Chayo was selling cheap street tacos and beers out on the promenade every day while we were there. Kinda neat for a quick bite.

Good to know! Thanks for the tips - I love to play VP for hours at a time, but I'm pretty casual and social about it and probably don't know as much as I should about variance between games. I've generally just found I can grind away on CET JoB for hours at a time while DDB, etc. can wipe me out fast.... but I get the risk/reward involved and try to mix it up. Vue Bar was pretty great, I really enjoyed the progressives up there and bar service was great!

If you want to stay at Cromwell, ping your host. Never not been given a room there even when it shows $$ online. We started to avoid it due to no "rescue food" late night, but this changes things. Still not near other levels, but will suffice. Rooms are small and dark, but the bed is unfuckingbelievable <yep 1 word.

Great trip report; thanks for sharing! If you like BLT, you have to try GR Steak....IMHO it's a step above.

btw...is that the Buffalo at Bally's? It never pays me when I play max bet, so maybe I need to change my strategy ;)

Oh, it's on my list! I was just craving BLT this time around.... and that Buffalo machine was actually at the LINQ... over by Nook Express and the elevators!

Really great report and pictures!!! I was there the same time as you were. Stayed in Paris. I have been comped twice at the Cromwell, and I am Platinum with Total Rewards. Wonder why you haven't been comped there. The rooms are on the small side, like others have said, with really no view. The windows are tiny. But the bed and the furniture is nice. And in 30 seconds, you are out of the elevator and on the Strip. I also had a bite to eat at Eatwell. The prices are amazing for the Strip.
