Please help me understand the Silver Strikes. Do they have collector value or is their value as a true token. If they are a gaming token how and where do you use them. I won a few several years ago and they are just laying in the drawer. Should I bring them on my next trip to cash them in or just hang on to them. Are they only good at the casino on the face or are they good anywhere. Also, the blue cap and red cap must be new, what is the significance of them? I know, lots of questions but I really don't have a clue. Thanks in advance.

They are not gaming tokens and can only be redeemed that the cashiers cage if the casino takes them at all.

Strikes before 2009 (don't quote me on that year) that have the .999 fine silver stamped are appox. .6 ozt of .999 silver
Strikes after that that have the .999 silver stamped on them (with some exceptions, namely error strikes) have .5 ozt of silver.

Your strikes probably only have value as "collectibles". Casinos will only accept strikes that they distributed.

The only casinos (that I am aware of) that currently accept Strikes are:

Mirage (Terry Fator only) They have discontinued their Silver Strike program and termination date has not yet (to my knowledge) been published
Venetian/Palazzo - They have discontinued their Silver Strike program and termination date has not yet (to my knowledge) been published, they have removed their machines and may not be accepting them.
    Four Queens
    El Cortez

    Hope that helps.

How did you like Silverton? Will you go back? We went on our July trip and I really liked the feel. Not to crowded and noisy. Lots of VP machines. We did not stay long. Wish I would have had more time.

I'm always impressed at how much you squeeze in on your trips.

I liked Silverton. Would it replace CET or mLife? No. But it's a friendly place, with all of the newest slots, and a wide variety of restaurants.

My friend (who won the slot tournament) and I will use it as a meeting place.

My trips are short (2 to 3 days), but often enough that I might squeeze them in every other or third trips. I'd be interested to see what kind of offers I get from $1250 coin in.

Nice report! Thanks about the Harrahs housekeeping update! Hope CET expands this. We tend to refuse housekeeping generally.

It actually started out as being a "joke" towards a casino marketing manager, who is Japanese but was "in a relationship".

Unfortunately, she left the casino industry before I could show it to her.

And, yes, I would be. Are you interested?? ;)

Just kidding. There is very little that an old, degenerate gambler Like me could bring to a relationship.

I actually wouldn't mind if Paris had the housekeeping waiver next month. I can grab a couple extra shampoos & lotions from the maid in the hallway if I need them. Since I have depleted my RCs every trip & managed to obtain some back-end comps on room charges I am in possession of a whole 2.72 in RCs lol. Staying at Paris & I'm sure their room 'value' is way higher on a Burgundy room than a Ballys Jubilee. $10 a day for skipping housekeeping might be the only comp I get on the back-end this trip lol.

It was a very comfortable suite. Too bad I didn't do anything but sleep in it. Maybe next trip . . . . .
