Solo trips are whatever you want them to be. Some people get out of bed and hit the casinos before 8:00 am and others do just like you and just enjoy the time away from their own realities to start the day mid-morning. Your base of operations at the Mirage is perfect. I end up at Harrah's most of the time and have been at the Mirage a few times too. Just a good central location and you don't feel like you're not in the "action", whatever you want that to be.

I appreciate your comments on The Still. Sounds pretty much like a must-do next trip. Glad the 20.00 trick worked for you at the Mirage. Good call on not going the strip club route, especially being from Portland..the Capital of strip clubs.

Gearing up for my next Vegas trip in a few weeks, your TR was inspirational and nostalgic.

Great report. Great pics. Great read. Getting picked for onstage fun followed by personal pics was icing on the cake!
Mirage is one of my favorites. Nice upgrade to the tower king and keeping the view.
Thanks for taking the time to share!

Holy detail - I really enjoyed ready all of that and seeing the photos. I felt like I was there!

Glad you had a good trip and sounds like you've officially caught the Vegas itch. Welcome to the club.

Really appreciate everyone's kind words on here - and I wish I could respond to them all! You never know what sort of response you'll get when posting something (especially at this level) out in space...and it's threads like this that keep me on the forums. I've been driven away from far too many before thanks to general mean spirited-ness and people posting nonsense just to get their counts up. Plus, now I won't forget everything from my trip either! :)

Indeed it is - and you're reminded pretty regularly as to why. I even hear murmurings of future improvements - the new exit lanes were a long time coming, for sure. Safe travels!

Wow, thank you! Good to know on Harrah's as well - does one simply need to request this at check-in or ?

Exactly right - the "time away from reality" was definitely what I was looking for on this trip...and it was awesome. *Looks at watch in casino - wow, it's 4:00 AM - doesn't matter to me!* The Mirage location was ideal as well, for sure. I never went to the monorail once.

Certainly! Per my report, I really liked it - nice selection of food, cool atmosphere, and just about every possible drink one can fathom behind the bar. Drinks are expensive ($14 wells!) but every place in Vegas is like that. Location is handy too - center of the casino nearby the guest elevators.

    Now, this is true...
Thank you again for your kind words!

Icing on the cake for sure - that whole experience had to have been a big highlight of the whole trip...and what a memento to take home afterward!

Glad we agree. :) As you can see, I quite enjoy writing and photography - especially journalistic topics like these (with my own commentary, of course). ;)

My first solo trip as well - would definitely do it again. Never a dull moment this trip, indeed!

Sounds good - glad to have this as my own nostalgia, as well. ;)

Thank you! Oh yeah, I've caught it...

What an awesome report! Great pics and commentary. Thanks for taking the time to put all of it together! Most of my trips are solo, and it's great to see you enjoyed it so much!

Mirage is one of my favorite places to stay (although staying @ Paris this next trip). I loved the Still - ate there twice on my last trip. Great concept. Thanks for the tip about the Whip Its. Added to my must do list for this trip - love 80's music, so I'll be heading to CC to check them out

    Great report!

Absolutely a fantastic report!! So enjoy your adventures & details you shared with us. Your pictures are so clear & detailed....makes me want to hop on a plane today! lol. Just one FYI....you have never REALLY eaten at White Castle until you consumed a couple "sliders".....those are the true WC...lol We have had them in our area since about 1930 & it is the place to go to at 2 am to soak up all the alcohol you drank that night.... :) Glad you enjoyed Margaritaville restaurant....we go each trip for great margies & volcano nachos. Thanks so much for sharing with us!

You can book a remodeled room online, currently those listed as Valley Tower are the remodeled rooms. You can book it or ask at check in, but they did try to uncharge me for them.
