Yea, it was only announced on the facebook pages of the MGM hotels that I saw and it was weird that they didn't do it around a holiday like Fourth of July or Veterans day. Considering Las Vegas kinda started as a military town and has an Air Force base and a lot of military retires. Stations casinos already has a players card for military/vets and Military Mondays, I guessing they "borrowed" the idea from them and in reality it's only for about 1% of the US population it really costs them nothing.

I checked it out online and couldn't find out how to apply; or better yet what you need to apply. As a veteran who served, I have my DD 214. I am gold at MLife, so the perks don't really interest me. I like the design of the card though... I am proud of my service and appreciate anything that celebrates our military.:clap::beer::usa:

I wonder if they will accept my drivers license that has the "Veteran" designation as proof of service?

Good info OP. After I saw this I decided to look at MilitaryTimes and actually found an article in there.

    http://www.militarytimes.com/articles/mgms-new-military-veteran-discount-program-covers-rooms-iconic-vegas-shows-and-more

According to the article the below ID's are approved for verification for the program.
MVP is an extension of M life Rewards, the company’s premier loyalty program. MVP provides service members with an M life Rewards card that has an MVP logo and provides access to all of the available military benefits throughout MGM Resorts destinations. While those eligible can sign up online, the card is provided when the service member, veteran or spouse visits one of the MGM properties, with one of the following approved forms of identification, according to Brittany Harris, a spokeswoman for MGM Resorts International:

    • Active duty military ID.
    • Dependent ID.
    • Retiree and reserve ID cards.
    • VA ID cards.
    • Form DD-214.
    • State-issued ID cards or driver’s license with “veteran” designation.

Good info but the link doesn't load for me, but thanks. The GVR took my drivers license with the "veteran" on it as proof, so I guess it becoming more common for places to accept it now.

Weird I just checked the link again and yeah it doesn't work now. Worked fine yesterday. It still shows up though through a search on there.

Yea, the "vet" on licenses is becoming more common and accepted as proof. A few years only a DD-214 would work. Now lots of places accept license with vet designations, VA ID, and Veteran's Advantage ID cards.

Thanks! I am assuming that survivors would also be included. Actually, I think the military still considers us dependents. My husband is still listed as my sponsor on my ID.

They didn't get everything into place before they rolled it out. My son wanted to see the Titanic yesterday. The box office quoted me the old military rate (rather than the new 30% off rate). The guy at the box office (who is retired military himself) said they didn't have any codes for 30% off, and they have no been informed of any change (though he did know about the new military Mlife cards). He called someone else, who also said the military rate is still $28. I pulled up the promo on my phone, and he confirmed it and made the adjustment. This was after him confirming to whomever he was on the phone with that I had pulled up a valid Mlife website. (I am not sure why they didn't seem to be able to pull it up themselves.)

But proceed with caution when booking things expecting the new military discounts. They are probably not coded in the system, and you most likely will have to show proof of what the discount is supposed to be.
