    My Trip Report

    Sunday July 2

Boston to Chicago to Las Vegas! A 12 PM landing! Yeah, we landed on time. It was so nice to be back in Las Vegas. [IMG]

My wife and I picked up a Hyundai Sonata from Dollar and were off to the Bellagio for the first four nights of our trip. The Bellagio comped us three nights, gave us $100 in Freeplay and $100 in hotel credit.

Our room was on the 24th floor and was very nice!

    Our room's nice view!

After our long flight we were ready for something to eat and headed to the Café Bellagio for some tasty sandwiches. My wife and I really enjoy the Café Bellagio. We then hit the Bellagio's casino for around five hours of video poker.

When hunger called again we walked down to the Cosmopolitan to have dinner in The Henry. The Henry is The Cosmo's 24/7 café. I learned about The Henry from one of the trip reports on Bonnie's LV4E. This was our first time eating here and we loved it. Delicious food, a nice atmosphere, good service... A pasta dish for my wife and their meat loaf for me.

After exploring The Cosmo and having dinner we went back to the Bellagio for roughly two more hours of video poker. When we went up to the room around midnight I was up $65 for my play. My wife was down some.

It was so nice to see the lights of Las Vegas again during our walks to and from The Cosmo. It was also nice to feel the heat. I enjoy the warm temps when I am in Las Vegas.

A couple of photos from The Cosmopolitan and our dinners!

    Monday July 3

Monday started off with a delicious breakfast at the Blueberry Hill Family Restaurant on Flamingo Road. My wife and I love this place. Pancakes for me and an omelet for my wife.

After breakfast we drove down to the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop. My wife especially wanted to see this place after her supervisor bought a ring here earlier this year. Basically, it's just another pawn shop, but it was fun to check out.

Next we went to the Mirage for a couple of hours of video poker and then over to the Gold Coast for more video poker. My wife left the Mirage up $80 and the Gold Coast up $40. I lost at both casinos.

We then went back to the Bellagio and stayed there for the rest of the night playing more video poker and having a great meal at Noodles. Noodles is a Pan-Asian restaurant. Jasmine tea, fried calamari that we shared as an appetizer, a beef veggie dish for me and a sweet & sour shrimp plate for my wife!

    Photos of Monday!

    Tuesday July 4

    Happy 4th of July!

We spent a few hours at the pool to start off the day. We found some shade and relaxed with magazines. Dips in the water were refreshing.

For lunch we went back to The Cosmopolitan and enjoyed another meal at The Henry. A Caesars salad for my wife and a chicken roll up for me. Very good!

We then went to Aria and played for around an hour. Aria won, but we had fun.

Below - Polar Bears at Aria's Jean Philippe Patisserie! They are made entirely out of chocolate.

Back at the Bellagio I hit a royal flush. Yeah! The royal was for $1096.75. I was playing a Bonus Poker game on a progressive machine.

Later that night my wife and I went to the 9:30 PM showing of KA at the MGM Grand. I liked the show's music and singing. The theater was amazing. So were the costumes! The show at times though tended to drag in my opinion. It didn't have the volume of acrobatics I was hoping for. I'm still glad I saw it.

We headed west on Flamingo Road and stopped at Rise & Shine for breakfast.

After our nice breakfast we drove towards the Red Rock Conservation Area to visit the Spring Mountain Ranch State Park. Boy, is this park beautiful and interesting! Anyone who loves the outdoors and the history of Nevada should visit this park. It only costs $9 a car to get in. You get to see mountains, have a guided tour of the park's famous ranch house and take a hike if you want on one of the park's trails. We took a stroll on the Lake Harriet Trail. This trail is less than a half of a mile long and the views you get from it are amazing.

Lake Harriet? Yes, it's there, but it has been drained and is being worked on to help it out. Something like that! [IMG]

Back at the Bellagio we hit the casino again. My wife kept hitting one quad after another. I couldn't win a nickel. When we stopped playing my wife was up over $100.

Around 7 PM we took the tram over to the Monte Carlo and then walked to New York New York. We had supper at Nine Fine Irishmen. Curry Chicken for my wife and a corned beef dinner for me. Delicious!

    Thursday July 6

Thursday we checked out of the Bellagio to go to the M Resort for a two night stay. The Bellagio was a blast. My wife and I had never stayed at the M Resort before and were looking forward to having some fun there.

First though we went to the Orleans for something to eat and some more video poker. For breakfast we grabbed some coffee and pastries at the Java Hut. We played here for around two hours and I turned $20 into $120. My wife was on some good machines, but lost.

The M Resort! Wow, what an amazing place! Wonderful, super friendly employees, tasty places to eat, a beautiful casino, actually everywhere in this resort is beautiful, lots of quarter 8/5 BP and 8/5 JOB, good drink service, easy parking... Our room was very nice too.

For lunch we went to the Vig Deli. What a nice deli! A BLT rollup for my wife and a hot dog and fries for me. For supper we went to their buffet. What a great buffet! Buffets at the M Resort are free when you put 1300 points on your Marquee Rewards card from video poker play. I did this in a little over two hours. My wife too. Less points are needed for that free buffet when you play slots. The dinner buffet is a little over $27 with the tax.

We played VP all afternoon and evening. I had hot machines. My wife had some hot machines and some cold ones. When we called it quits for the day I was up over $300 for my Thursday play. My wife lost some.

What a fun first day at the M!

    Friday July 7

Friday was another fun day. We started off by going to the pool for around three hours. We grabbed some coffee and pastries from Baby Cakes Bakery to bring to the pool. The water was great. The M Resort has a very nice pool area.

After the pool we went back to the casino looking for the royal flush. I had a BP machine that I couldn't seem to lose on. My wife was having a tough time and switched to the nickel games.

We had a gift card for the Outback so we drove up to the one on Las Vegas Boulevard near the outlets. Chicken for my wife and a steak for me. Very good!

After driving around some of the neighborhoods near the M Resort we went back to the M's casino and played until around midnight.

    Saturday July 8

Time to go home! I always wish I had two or three more days to be here.

Our plane home takes off at 11:55 AM, so we have a busy morning. Packing, checking out, returning the car...

Fun in the casinos, relaxing by the pools, KA, delicious food, Spring Mountain Ranch State Park, nice hotel rooms... Las Vegas has it all!

It was a winning trip for me. I brought home all the money I took to Las Vegas plus close to $700 more. My wife didn't have a winning trip, but she had a blast.

    Thanks for reading!

    Viva Las Vegas!

@tagac27 - I loved your report - spectacular pics and really like the day by day approach, it gave me the feeling of tagging along right behind you. The M resort looks and sounds like a great place too. We also like The Henry for breakfast early or late night. Congrats on the wins, always adds a high note to any Vegas trip!
    Thanks for taking us along.

Glad to hear you enjoyed your time at M Resort. It really is a lovely property.
I'm just a little sad it seems they've reduced the amount of slots on the casino floor.
They used to get all the new ones pretty quickly...but it seems that's not their focus since
    the new owners took over.
Fun report to read. Thanks for taking the time to post.
