This article and video is atrocious and seems more like an advertisement for Ardent's system (the same as CET uses), but it worth noting that they are looking at putting this in at M Resort soon.

Interesting the way they're trying to spin it as an advantage for the player and a tool for the bartender.
Somebody's out there doing a hard sell on these drink monitoring systems. Clearly appealing to the casino bottom line and how much
they'll "save"...blah, blah, blah. The greed is strong.
Sounds like it'll be a trend for a few years and then go belly up once the real numbers are in on the loss of gambling revenue.

Ha, you beat me to it Ardee - was just going to say the same thing.
I've never participated in this system nor played VP at a bar so think I can be objective when I say " WHAT A CROCK" - that Tabola guy will have to explain 60 ways from Sunday how this system advantages a player.
At least be honest in the Marketing - this was purely designed to benefit casinos bottom line - and stop insulting all of us...advantage the player indeed :cuss::grrr:

    Thanks for sharing @SHOCK.

The M resort is an interesting choice. I find it populated with a slightly upmarket crowd but the buffet brings in a certain frugal element as well. I can't imagine it will save a locals place as much as the strip casinos do since it has almost no transient business.

I might be one of the rare folks that think this is indeed an advantage for the player. I enjoy playing VP at the bars and since Cosmo has moved to a ticket system I see more players than moochers. There is more opportunity for me to find a chair at the bar - enjoy a drink and possibly get a Royal!! Too many try to scam and I see it all the time - not that I care but with them out of the way - there is a seat for me and the attention of the bartender.

The ticket system is my preference over the light system. When my husband and I play we get more tickets than we can drink and save some for play at the slots. We can order premium drinks and bring them onto the slot floor using our drink tickets. It is a nice bonus for our play.

I don't think you can say the buffet brings in the frugal element as it is as expensive as the strip. The majority have it comped and, given that, they tend to be actual players. Since the M turned over the sportsbook to a third party you can't get a free drink there and, in fact, there isn't even waitress service if you wanted to pay for one. This isn't an "M decision" as I think they understand their positioning for the local market...this is a Penn National directive.

If they start it in Tunica, then I will really believe it's a Penn National call. That's a market where I expect this to fail (even though it may better market for it as drink scamming is common). CET has held off putting it in so far there.

I wonder if the strip bartenders said that too...lol

But given M's typical clientele, I dunno if it will affect things much. Most ppl at the bar there play "enough" from what I've seen.

Two items: 1) The bartenders at the M said they haven't heard a thing about this and 2) The bar between the Forum Shops and the casino already has a ticket system so CET is adopting

We ended up at the M for the first day of BC, due to so many Strip, properties being completely booked in the Horse Book.

    It was a complete disaster!

    * Drink comps were indeed hard to come by.
    * NO Wifi (unless you were a guest)
    * The carrals had cheap, unworkable single station TV screens, which were inoperative or frozen.
    * the sound system was completely useless at the carrals
    * large screens experienced constant freezing, complete loss of signal and loss of sound system.

We would never, ever, ever set foot there again!

Thank God we stopped down the street at South Point for Saturday's BC and stayed for both NFL Sunday & Monday. EVERYTHING is right with that place, from the split Horse- Sports Books, overflow immense theatres, multiple, diverse, eating establishments, unlimited drink comps and low level 3/2 BJ and the home of VSIN!

A fabulous place that we will absolutely book next year.

Could have definitely warned you about every item on our list. I went to the BC on Friday at Red Rock and then Saturday at the M. The screen was freezing on Sat too, but I didn't miss any racing. I just use my phone as a hotspot to overcome the wifi issue. I like the SP too, but as much as the horse players love the split books...I really want to follow football while I also watch/bet on the races. Glad you found a new home base. Try out the happy hour at Zenshin for sushi and other options (HH starts at 2pm).
