Out of excitement for my upcoming trip, I was using Google maps to see where exactly The Park is relative to NYNY and Monte Carlo. Thinking that Google Maps would be right up to date, I was confident everything would be fairly recent.

Sure enough, The Park was right where I thought it would be, and I made a mental note of it for when I do a walk of the strip.

Then, temptation got the better of me, and I decided to "walk" up the strip on Google maps. I spent a few minutes, fully content and excited as ever from the lovely sights of the Las Vegas strip. Looking on the right hand side as I went north, everything seemed to be normal. Paris, Bally's, and then...

    Bill's Gamblin' Hall?!

At a total loss for words, I wondered how it was even possible for that to show up. The Park is brand new and it was on there, but Bill's became the Cromwell in 2014, right?

Taking a closer look, the image was from 2009! As I took a "step" forward, it became the Cromwell with a 2016 image.

It was almost surreal, to take one small "step" on Google maps, and literally see that transition take place before my eyes. Of course, that's just a discrepancy in what images they have. Has anyone else noticed a similar thing on Google maps?

On Google street view I'm pictured getting into my van at home.
When looking at the street view of the parking lot at work, I'm pictured getting out of the car that we traded in to get the van! :D

Could not duplicate. They must have one weird old geocoded image with everything around it updated

    Edit: found it

i noticed bills a few years back...in some spots on the strip its up to date within a month to a few months going southbound, move over to the northbound side and its a few years old...in most shots you can see ballys bazaar shops, and in a few you can see the old rings walkway...

on the northbound strip while it is showing bills, you can see them building city center and the octavous tower...if you go diagnally either way just right, it somehow puts you in a bathroom in a flamingo suite, and you can look around, some ways put you back on the strip

their pics aren't 100% in synch - I was looking at an aerial view of the High Roller once and zoomed in to street level and all it showed was construction...

Sometimes you can tick the box in the upper left hand corner where the date is, and you'll get multiple dates to choose from in the same spot.
*Warning* - Using this feature is very addicting and will gobble up much of your limited bandwidth. :evillaugh:

I would have liked it better if that photo was of the Barbary Coast. I miss that place as much as or even more than the Stardust.
