    My Trip Report

After a health scare and a cancelled trip in May, I finally got my Vegas trip sorted for July.

    Sunday July 2nd

I was flying with Virgin Atlantic and my flight was about 30 mins late departing. I was in Premium Economy as I had used some of my air miles to upgrade for this trip. I also had a win as I had an aisle seat with nobody next to me so plenty of room to stretch out. I watched a couple of movies. John Wick Chapter 2, I haven't seen the first one though. I also watched Kong Skull Island as well.

I landed around 1.30pm local time and I was off the plane quite quickly and it was quick through immigration, but as usual had to wait for my luggage. Once I had that I went out into the hot weather and grabbed a cab to Tuscany.

Check in at Tuscany was easy and quick as usual and I was in building M which is right at the back on the complex so you don't hear any noise from the road or the pool area. I got to my room and unpacked and freshened up. I went to the casino and hit the café for something to eat before getting a new players card as I had forgotten to bring mine. I have a bit of a play before deciding to go for a bit of a walk.
I walk up Flamingo and into Ballys and make my way into Paris and get myself a couple of beers. I then make my way back to Tuscany for some more drink before starting to feel tired.

I head back to my room and get into bed and see what time I wake up. I wake about midnight but decide to carry on sleeping.

    Monday 3rd July

After catching up on my sleep I awake at about 5am, I can't sleep anymore so I put the TV on and I end up watching Wimbledon Tennis for a while. I decided to get something to eat. I head to the café and I have never been up and about at this time in Vegas. I go into the café for breakfast and there is me and a couple in there and that is it. I get my usual Eggs Benedict and a coffee. I head out onto to Flamingo and have a walk up towards the Strip. Despite being about 7am it is already starting to get hot.

I make my way through Cromwell and the clientele are dressed for 7pm rather than 7am. I carry on and walk through Flamingo which is quiet as well. I walk across the Linq and into O'Sheas. There are about 4 or 5 youngsters at the bar. One of them is slumped on the bar asleep. Just made me thought of that line from the Hangover.

"Some guys just can't handle Vegas."

I walk into the Linq and decided for a drink and I sit at the bar and get a coke. I then have a walk through Harrahs and across to Mirage before walking around to Caesars. I go in through the Forum shops entrance and I have walk through the shops although they are all still closed.. I notice something interesting, all the shops that sell watches don't have anything on display in the windows. Have they always done this or is this because of what happened at Bellagio. I walk into the casino at Caesars and I get another coke in there. I walk out across to the other side of the Strip and I end up in Paris then I walk around Planet Hollywood and a walk around Miracle Mile.shops.

I head back to Tuscany after picking some things up from CVS. I get back to Tuscany and dump stuff back in my room. I head to the casino for an hour or two before deciding to have a walk out. I end up in Cromwell for a drink and a perv then I walk over to Paris for another drink. I walk across to Caesars and through the shops that are now open. I go around to Mirage, I was thinking of getting a ticket for Jay Leno but the box office queue is long so I decided to try another time. I walk to the memorabilia shop in Mirage for a look before making my way back towards the Linq. I end up in O'Sheas for a drink then across to Tilted Kilt. I have a few in here and I end up getting food in here as well.

I head back to Tuscany and back to my room for a rest. I wake up about 9,30 and I get dressed and it's back out to the Strip. I hit Paris first and get talking to one of the guys behind the bar who I know After there I go over to Tilted Kilt for a few drinks before ending up in O'Sheas for a few. I then make my way back to Tuscany for a night cap.

About the Forum shops and watches on display:
I notice they've done that at the jewelry/watch shops at Wynn/Encore too.
I think it's to avoid smash and grabs, which are sadly, too often these days.
Looking forward to the rest of your report.

    Tues 4th July

I'm awake about 10am and I get a shower and I'm out for just after 10.30 am. I got to the café for breakfast and then I hit the casino bar. I play on the progressive VP. I'm
playing along and it's getting towards the $1400 mark. I just carry on playing and I get a bit of a hit.
    20170704_123120.jpg

I carry on and then it goes crazy.
    20170704_125520.jpg
    Oh baby.

I try to stay calm as I tell the guy behind the bar that I have hit the royal. He calls the slot people and they come over and tell me I have to give up 30% of it. I can claim it back so I wasn't bothered as I was still reeling from what has just happened. The woman comes back with my money. I don't tip as they just took some off me, I do tip the bar staff well though.
I play for a few more mins then I cash out and head out onto the Strip. I end up in Mirage looking at some memorabilia and I also call in at the box office and get a ticket for Jay Leno. I went into Forum shops as well and went into a shop called America. It's all your Trump and Obama paraphernalia, T shirts etc.
I was approached by a lady who worked in there and was Asian decent.

"Welcome to America shop how are you?" She asked in her best Miss Saigon accent.

I said I was just having a look around.

"Where is your July 4th T shirt?" She asked.

I pointed out I had my Cleveland Indians shirt on.

"I get you T shirt $10 yes." She said.

I declined her offer but the whole thing made me laugh when I left the shop. I wondered over to O'Sheas for a drink then across to Tilted Kilt for a few drinks and something to eat. I walked back to Tuscany to freshen up and get changed. I got Lyft over to Downtown and got dropped at El Cortez. I had a bit of VP at the bar for a few minutes then I headed on to Fremont St. I walked round and took in the usual sights before settling in Golden Gate for a few drinks and a chat with one of the guys I know.
After I left there I headed back down Fremont and I had a walk through Golden Nugget and back to Cortez. I got Lyft back to the Strip and got dropped at Caesars and walked across to Paris for a couple of drinks before going back to Tuscany for a couple of late drinks.

    Weds 5th July

As usual I start in the café with a salad this time as it's about 12 noon. After that I had a brief chat with the casino manager over my missing 30% off my win. He clarified the situation and that was that. I went to the casino bar to see if I could hit something again, I couldn't do as well as the day before. I spent most of the afternoon in the casino, I was just having a lazy afternoon. I went to the café for a prime rib then back to my room for a rest and I got changed to head back downtown. I got Lyft to Cortez and I was meeting up with a mate of mine who had been over here for nearly 3 weeks. He been touring around Nevada and went to different places. He said he was disappointed with Reno though .I met up with him and his brother and we had a couple of drinks before heading up Fremont Street and to the Golden Gate.

I had a drink with them in there before they headed back to Cortez. I stayed in Golden Gate for a few more beers and then moved onto the Fremont for a drink. After that I got Lyft and went back to the Strip. I ended up in O'Sheas for a few beers, it was getting late by now so I just headed back to Tuscany for a couple of drinks. I got chatting to a guy from Edinburgh, I thought he was just on holiday. He lives in the U.S though and he's from somewhere outside of LA. He has lived here for 10 years and was in Vegas as he was working there.

I had noticed that there was a sort of convention going on at Tuscany this week. It was called Bigger City and looking at some of the guys that were about my thinking was that it was some sort of meeting for larger men. I decided to google it and then wished I hadn't. It is something to do with larger guys, it's a organisation for gay men who like larger gay men. Or to word as they do on their website chubby chasers.
After that I had one more drink and headed to bed.

    Thurs 6th July

As always with my trips the waking up time gets later each day. It's about 12.30 when I wake and I get dressed and have a walk out in the heat. I don't feel that hungry so I head out onto Flamingo and walk up towards Ballys. I get inside to cool off and I walk through to Paris and get a couple of drinks at Gustevs bar. I walk back out into the heat and I get as far as PH and I dive into Miracle Mile shops. I have a walk round and look in a few shops before I come out where the PBR bar is. I walk over the bridge and I walk through Crystals and into Aria. I figure I need a drink so I go to the bar for a beer. The guy asks if I want some popcorn. I decline then I realise it's free so I have some. After my drink I have a walk through to Monte Carlo which is now rapidly changing into the Park.

I come out of Monte Carlo and walk round to NYNY. I'm getting a little hungry so I stop by the hot dog place in NYNY, I always like their dogs. I take the walk over to Excalibur and walk through there and into Luxor before ending up in Mandalay Bay shops. I have a look around the memorabilia store before I end up in Ri Ra for a drink
After that I make my way back to NYNY, I decide I cant be arsed to walk back and I get a cab as I cant get wifi so cant get Lyft. The cab was reasonable and I get back to Tuscany and I have about an hour on the VP at the bar. After that I get back to my room and I decide to have a rest before I start my evening session. I wake up about 9.30 and freshen up and get ready.

When I was playing earlier I left my players card in the machine, so I head to the casino to see if it's been handed in .As I get near the pool I can hear some loud music and it looks like the chubby chasers are having a pool party .Anything I see on Fremont St from now on can never be worse than what I witnessed, when I glanced over to the pool area .I went into the casino and I got my card and I got out of there. I hit the Tilted Kilt for a few beers before moving onto O' Sheas for yes you guessed it, more beer. Next I had a drink in the Linq. I walked over to Paris for a couple of drinks before heading back to Tuscany for a couple of drinks. The pool party had stopped but there were a few hanging about and fat men in speedo's is not good.

    Friday 7th July

The day started in Tuscany café first and then onto the casino for some VP at the bar. I sat next to the machine that I had won on Tues. I wasn't doing much on the machine I was on and thought about maybe moving. A guy turned up and started playing on that machine. He was probably playing for about 40 mins or so when he hit a royal. He wasn't playing the progressive but he got $1000 out of it and it was his first as well.
I headed out and walked up to Paris for a couple of drinks then I walked across to Cromwell for a drink and a perv. I was sat there and me, a guy at the bar and a couple of bar staff notice a couple walking through the casino. The woman has quite a bit of muscle on her, the rather petite girl behind the bar just said.

"I bet she could kick my ass."

They guy next to me started on about Darais dayclub. He had been up to it and his opinion was you would be better just getting a good looking hooker and getting down to it, rather than go through all that. I had another walk and ended up in Tilted Kilt for a drink or two. I headed back to Tuscany and got something to eat at the café. I went back to my room to have a rest then get changed and head back out on the Strip as I was off to see Jay Leno. I got to Mirage about 9.30pm. I queued for a drink than went into the theatre. It's the Terry Fator theatre where he's appearing, I'm on the right hand section of seats and on row 7. The view is good, first off they have some sort of doo wop group who do a few songs.

Jay comes on and does about 90 mins, he is very funny and has the audience laughing from start to finish. A great show and well worth my $99. Once I came out of the Mirage I headed over to Tilted Kilt for a few beers and then over to O'Sheas. I finished off with a couple of drinks in Tuscany.

    Sat 8th July

This was a late start which is usual for my end of week in Vegas. I was up at about 2pm and got freshened up and headed out. I got something to eat at the café and then sat at the bar for some more VP. I was there most of the afternoon as I had a quiet last full day. I got something to eat again at the café before back to my room to get changed and get ready for my last night. I packed up most of my stuff ready for the next day.
I headed out on the Strip and first was Paris for a couple of drinks and then onto O'Sheas for a few drinks. I hit the Tilted Kilt for one last time and a few beers. Time to go back and I ended up in Tuscany for my last drinks.
As I walked into the pool area the chubby chasers were having another pool party so I got through there quick. I don't know if any of these guys went Downtown while they were in Vegas. If they did the Heart attack Grill would of crapped themselves.

    Sun 9th July

I woke about 8.30am, it was a 11am checkout but I rang to see if I could get a later checkout and was told no. I got up about 10.45am and stayed in the room until the cleaner actually knocked on the door. I checked out and left my luggage with the valet. I went to get something to eat in the café before getting a couple of final drinks at the bar. I ordered Lyft to the airport and check in was easy and I settled in the lounge to wait to board. Premium was busy than coming so no empty seat next to me. I only watched one film on the way back which was Return of Xander Cage. I tried to get some sleep as I had a long day when I got back.
Finally got back and well that's it for Vegas this year. My usual October visit is being replaced by a Atlantic City trip. I never say never but I don't think I will see Vegas again in 2017.

Congrats on the royal! I'm out of breath just trying to keep up with all your walking, lol!
Glad to hear Leno still puts on a good show - it's been a few years but definitely a favorite of ours.
Thanks for sharing - I enjoy your observations!

Sounds like the Tilted Kilt has some magical draw that keeps you going back pretty often. Good beer?

    Great Hit,
Maybe someone else could chime in here.
I was under the impression that being from the UK they didn't hold back any of the winnings, correct me if I'm wrong.
