    My Trip Report

Going to try this on an Iphone. May not make it

Anyway, me and son in law are at the Nuggett for two days before three days on the strip (flamingo)

So far not too bad for me -not the same for my sil. The Nugget has been great- gold room, vip checkin, very good happy hour pizza and martini specials.

My game is craps with a little bit of other stuff. Yesterday i played about 6 hours - here, Gold Coast plaza mss and the cal. All were decent and fun with goold service-except the cal. No vibe at all. Double odds, no feature bets no hop bets and a bored crew. Won't bother again

All told down about $150. Not bad for 6 hours of entertainment.

Freemint street did not disappoint - even for a monday. Lot's of colorful characters.

This morning played a bit here and dropped $50. Then had to head back to MSS tocash in some tickets I forgot last night. Ran $30 up to $160 ( my first 4ok!). Then played it all through.

Today is more casino hoping and five more holes of slot golf and roulette golf. If anyone wants those details let me know. Four holes down yesterday and there is $480 in the purse. Not bad for $400 investment.

Day 2 started with an early(like 4am local time)walk along freemont and down to the plaza and over to MSS. I had forgotten to cash in a Ticket out yesterday. Numerous urban nomads sleeping on the sidewalks. Starbucks and some unsuccessful craps sessions filled in until the breakfast buffet opened at 8.

The GN buffet was nothing special. I'd give it a B minus. My point of comparison is the Borgata in AC and the Planet Hollywood ones - much better. The layout was goofy with everyone funneled to one overcrowded area.

After breakfast we continued our games of slot folf and rouulette golf. We hit the last 5 casinos during the morning. So over the course of our games we had a pretty nice sampling of nine places, playing a little slots, a little roulette and a lot if craps. Here are my one word impressions of each:
    GN. Best
    Goldengate: low-budget
    plaza: soulless
    Cal: disappointing
    MSS: enjoyable
    Binions: old
    Freemont: tight
    Four queens: unremarkable
    The D: fun
So our games ended with a total pot of over $600 for roulette but a disappointing $200 pot of winnings at the slot
For those not familiar with the games, it is a way to compete. We started with $50 at each casino. We pick a machine aput in $20. You play max credits until you win something. Then cash out. If you hit on your third spin, your score for that "hole" is 3. Low score after 9 holes wins the accumulated winnings. Same with roulette. Most were $5 places. So you pick five numbers. Max of 6 "strokes". Low score takes the pot.
We spent a good bit of time at the D playing roulette. I like that place. Good crew, plentyful bloody marys and overall pleasant surroundings. The only downside was a less than adequate cooling system. At 11am it was toasty at the craps table. We were told that was an unusual situation.

We left there and continued up the the ElCo for some blackjack. $5 single deck at noon. I am not a real accomplished okayer so I liked the slower pace of the game where they shuffled after every othe hand

We got back to the GN about 1, had a nice rueben for lunch then a quick rest before heading to the pool.
More later - including our trip to AtomicLiquor and Don't tell mamas...

Last niggt was a trip to Atomic Liquors and the container park. Atomic Liquors did not have as much memorabilia as I thought, but it did have an awesome beer selection. i tried two different wheat beers. The container park is avery interesting use of space that seems to be very popular. Both very cool.

Then we stopped by a piano bar "Don't Tell 'Momma's". I said as we entered about 8:15 " we will either be here 10 mintutes or 3 hours. We left at midnight. Maybe it was the very talebted piano player. Or maybe the friendly bartenders. Or the few patrons we met when we arrived or the bachelorette party that showed up. But I love to sing and , even though a lot of the music was a little too recent for me, i ended up with no voice. Highly recommended.

This morning we checked out and ubered to flamingo. We scored an early check in at 8 and headed to mon ami gabi. I love breakfast on the patio. Beef short ribs eggs benedict and some crepes with carmelized pinapple.

Then we headed to machine gun vegas. My son in law wanted me to join him so I indulged. I have to admit, it was a lot of fun. The assault guns and a glock. I actually did pretty well.

Then I spent some time with the craps crew at Flamingo. The best so far. Fun, friendly and very proffessional. I am looking forward to morenover the next couple of days.

More later - including dinner at Voodoo steakhouse, penn and teller, an epic craps run and a nightcap at the Voodoo lounge.
