Hey, gang, any thoughts on these routes:

    Chehalis-Western Trail
    Centennial Trail
    Burke-Gilham/Sammamish River trails
    Vashon Island loop

The Snoqualmie Valley trail is more mixed-surface, no? (My wife rides 30s on her Vita but I don't yet have a set of alt-road wheels for my roader.)

    Thanks!!

    Heynow ken2v :):):)

I have lived in the Snoqualmie Valley for thirty five years, I am not an avid bike rider but do tool around the valley a bit. If the number of bikes I dodge around in my car is any indicator it is a great place to ride.

The Burke Gilman trail is amazing too, takes in so much of Seattle's sights, from the sound to the east side, past the University of Washington, it really is a nice trail. Wide, paved, and not a lot of altitude gain, or at least not all at once.

If you end up in the Snoqualmie Valley we would enjoy seeing you........either at the house or the Snoqualmie Casino, it's on a big hill though....might want to drive there :):):)

Thanks, CR. As the trip gets closer and we narrow down our plans, I'll pop you a note if it looks like we are heading out that way.

I'm not going to be much help. I rode part of Burke-Gillman, but before they finished it. The part I rode was nice, but it got pretty sketchy near Ballard back then.

I'd never heard of the Vashon Island Loop. Turns out it's not only not a loop, it doesn't even go to some of my more favorite parts of the island. ;)

If you want a ride outside of the Seattle area, you might consider the Olympic Discovery Trail. We are working on connecting to it from the Bainbridge Ferry Terminal, but right now, that part is still riding on the highway. I think it's currently from Port Townsend to Forks on the coast. http://www.olympicdiscoverytrail.com/ I've only done from Discovery Bay to Gardiner, and back. It's some beautiful country. Sequim to Crescent Lake would be a nice ride, IMO.

I think that Ballard section is dubbed the "missing link."

    Thanks, Sonya.
