have a room booked in a corner suite next month for 6days. I called after wondering if they could attach a f&b comp or anything else to it and was told they do not do that with the suits just basic rooms. Said to ask when checking out if they can do anything. That makes 0 sense, feel a bit lied to. Should I call back and try again? If true how likely am I to get some of the drinks taken off at check out?

What is your normal level of play? What kind of offer are you on for the 6 nights? What is your history with the resort you are staying at, I assume Aria based on room types you are referring to?

I only get basic rooms at Aria and I always have between 100 and 200 in resort credit as part of the offer. At some of the lower tier MLife properties I get suite offers that include resort credit. I don't think you were necessarily lied to, it could be based upon the offer you are using that they don't give any more F&B from the start.

I'm just basic level with just a normal m life discount as I haven't been in years but I figured since I'm paying for a top room that they'd at least throw on a small f&b comp to it. At least it hasn't been an issue when I went regularly. It's mostly them sayi they don't do comps on the upper suits that through me off the most.

AFAIK, F&B comps are based on play, not spend.

The hotel (room rates) and casino (F&B comp) are two different departments with their P&L (Profit and Loss) centers.

The hotel giving you F&B comp would be the equivalent of one department discounting for another department.

If it were me (and it's not, it's you). I would spend what I would normally spend in the casino, and charge everything to the room, then ask for comps on the backend.

I wouldn't "overspend" expecting it to be picked up on the backend, depending On my play. You will be generating mLife points at 25x for the Skysuite, but Aria is notorious for requiring.a high level of play for backend comps.

I can't quite tell what you're talking about.

If you have an MLife Offer for a regular room with freeplay and resort credit, and you booked a suite using your MLife discount, they probably should be able to apply the offer code.

But if you don't have any MLife gaming offers and you think they should "at least throw on a small f&b comp" just because it's an expensive room, well, that's not how things work.

No, I was told they don't do those kind of comps for the higher rooms which confused me as I would think they would be more lieniant on giving those out as a person is spending more money on those rooms

They offer resort credits on any type of room, it is based on your prior gaming history. Comps are never based on spend. I think you are misinterpreting the response from the person you spoke to or the person did a poor job communicating the response. Like I said before, I don't think you were lied to.

Of course they will give upfront F&B comps on any room type if your prior play warrants it. They don't just give F&B comps because you showed you are willing to spend on the room. I would assume that is really what you were being told, not that they don't comp for those rooms.

I'm paraphrasing here but you said "I'm spending a lot for the room, can you throw in a free meal?" The response was, "Ww don't do that here." There's no lie in that.

While I'm not an MGM player... my insight on the "they do not do that with the suites just basic rooms" comment is that I suspect they don't offer resort credit type incentives on these suites, simply because if you want one... you'll pay for it. There's nothing else quite like them, so there isn't any incentive for them to go throwing you a bone just to make the sale. If this was a regular two-queens basic room, or even a junior suite, I could see them offering that, as they're comparable to what you could get elsewhere (Cosmo, MGM, etc.), and thus there would be an incentive to sway you in their direction. But imagine Palms offering resort credits as incentives for their Kingpin Suite. They don't have to, because they sell on their own. A $100 F&B credit isn't going to make or break that sale, and I believe the same thing applies to Aria's sky suites.

Now, comps on play, on the other hand... that's a different story. It's very possible that your play can run up comp value, in such a way that you'll not be paying for some drinks/food/spa services/shows/etc. - but since you said you haven't been there in years, that's very much going to be a "wait and see".

The idea that seems to be underpinning your question is the idea that "since I spent $____ on the suite, it should warrant some kind of comp irrespective of my play". Based on my theory, and the insights provided with others, I wouldn't count on any such thing happening. It's kind of like spending thousands of dollars on a flight overseas and still having to pay for a drink. Yes, you spent a lot of money, and "you would think" they would recognize that by giving you a courtesy of some kind. But that's just not how it works.

DaiLun did mention that you'll earn 25x mLife points for booking this room (which is a cool perk I didn't know about). So I suppose that in effect, you'll have a whole bunch of mLife points that could be used towards F&B. I agree that from a hospitality perspective, it seems kind of cold to say "here, spend all this money on one of our nicest suites, and see how many points our computer says you have". But really, what can you do?

Once you hit the gaming floor, different story. But like others have said, your comps based on your play, and what you'll be entitled to from that will not be impacted by what kind of room you're paying for.

Combined, you'll be benefiting from mLife points for your room spend, and play value for comps that you generate from your gaming. So I expect that if you're giving them solid play, you'll have plenty to work with to get some things comped off. But at this point, before you've even gotten to Vegas, there really isn't much premise for them to go giving you anything. It just doesn't make sense from a business perspective.

I actually did try that once and they wouldn't let me. I had an offer for a regular room, with some free play and resort credit. We all know M Life won't let you upgrade ahead of time, even if you are willing to pay for it - so I offered to pay for the suite myself, if I could get the rest of the stuff that went with my offer (figuring I could get some of the room comped off at the end). Nope.

Thanks notfromconcentrate. that makes sense, them not needing to offer the comp as incentive. To be clear I was not expecting anything, the answer just through me off

As I play I always get F&B and loads of FP in their skysuites both penthouse and one bedroom suite. You have to play first. You're looking at a min of $15k coin in on slots for a Sky suite and probz $20 to $25k for the penthouse so my aria host told me...They will then add additional on top!
