We currently have Comcast and am totally fed up. The only other cable tv alternative is CenturyLink and prices are comparable. . Condo Assoc. prohibits Dish. Am thinking of going to a streaming service. Would like to hear opinions on what you're using instead of cable. Thanks in advance Aw234
There was some recent discussion about Sling here on the board https://www.vegasmessageboard.com/forums/index.php?threads/anyone-have-slingtv.140069/
I was under the impression that condo rules cannot supersede federal laws. Here is a link to the FCC website, if you have a balcony, you should be able to install a dish. https://www.fcc.gov/consumers/guides/installing-consumer-owned-antennas-and-satellite-dishes
Our condo assoc. allows them, but they look ugly. Got 2 of them on my overhang...both of them my neighbors. I ditched the cable 3 weeks ago, left the internet, for now. Bought an antenna today, and picked up all the local channels, plus a few more. I'm okay with it.
Get yourself a Mi box from wally world and read up about Kodi. Another option is PSVue or DirecTV now - I sub to DTVNow for sports and at $35 a month its fine.
You are correct that we can use a dish. The HOA.discourages the use of them. We thought a about the dish but the repercussions. Were a small community so its easy to stir the pot and at this point its not worth it. Thank you for the reply.
I got rid of cable 2 years ago. I use my local channels, Netflix ($13 per month) and Amazon Prime ($99 per year). Between those 3 services and YouTube I have plenty to watch. This doesnt cover any sort of sports package so if you're a big sports watcher you might need something more.
