This is for the first 2 nights of my trip. July 23 & 24.

    1. I booked Crown and Anchor member rates at Aria for $110 per night, plus $200 resort credit. Dont forget the resort fee of $38? X 2.

    2. I also have MyVegas rewards to stay at MGM, Excalibur, NYNY and Vadara for just the resort fee.

Which sounds like the best deal/experience? I prefer Downtown and roll low. Never only stayed at MGM of the above hotels.

My wife will be with me.

Help me decide where to stay.

    Thanks. [IMG]

Your Aria resort credit pretty much wipes out your cost. So all of your options are close to a push cost wise give or take a few bucks on the resort fee.

Vdara and Aria better than MGM and much better than NYNY and Excal. Personally I'd choose Aria but Vdara is very nice as well.

I agree..Aria is great, and never stayed at Vdara but heard great things about it.

The resort fee is a little cheaper at Excalibur, but saving about $30 isn't worth the downgrade from Aria.

Of course, this is assuming you use the full $200 resort credit and that you would normally spend $200 at MGM properties over your stay.

Also by not using a MyVegas reward on the room, you can still use cash in three rewards for dinners or shows.

Vadara for just the resort fee.

Would be my advice. Given your choices. Good luck!

Always about you, is it? :D

Happy Wife, Happy Life. Aria\Vdara wrap-around and put it on the Amex.

Aria resort fee is $88.00 ($44.00 per night). Probably the same at Vdara.

2 night Aria stays are available on myVegas (I'm staying there on one in 3 weeks), unless there weren't any dates that fit for you.

If you drive, please be aware of the following:

I stayed at Aria last time on a myVegas comp. The pluses:

no gambling obligation for $44.00 a night.

    the minuses

The Aria is OK if you don't mind walking . . .a lot . . the layout is not "walking friendly" , but since I made Gold and Valet is N/C . . .. I might as well stay at "top of the line"

Same with MGM Grand. It's a Loooonnnnngggg walk from the self-park garage to the casino. If you're a "camper", it's OK, but if you want to get out to the strip, it's a "hike"

Never stayed at Excalibur or NYNY, won't stay in a hotel with no casino, hence, no Vdada.

If you prefer downtown, why are you looking at strip properties?
Assuming that you'll be splitting time between the strip and DT, I think I'd go with NYNY. Nice mid-range property that would be new to you. Not expensive like Aria (esp. compared to downtown) but a step up from Excal and Luxor.

I prefer downtown, but I'm still a bit of a room snob. I really like a room with a nice bathroom. Huge showers with seating. I dont enjoy the gaming minimuns in the strip. Im a red chip guy.

It's going to be my birthday week so I think I'll stick with the Aria.

What are my chances of getting an upgrade paid or not?

Last September we stayed on a two night comp over Labor Day weekend and got upgraded to a Corner Suite Strip view with Tower Lounge check-in. It was a very nice room with a view from the South strip all the way up to Planet Hollywood.

I recently stayed 2 nights at Bellagio followed by 2 at Aria both with Crown & Anchor. Something to note is mandatory check out is 11am with 1 hour grace period, Meaning, out by 12 or you get charged. BUT check-in isn't guaranteed till 3pm. My suggestions will be for circumventing this.

    1) Vdara will be the best room for MyVegas.
    2) Vdara and Aria are very close together and a simple commute. Also, moving from Vdara to Aria will be a subtle upgrade in my opinion.
    3) I was able to check into Aria at 12 immediately after I checked out of Bellagio. With a $20 bill b/w my credit card and ID, I was given a strip view king and a room I could unpack in immediately. I had booked the cheapest King w/o a view with the $200 resort credit offer.

*I have stayed at MGM and love the pool but have never stayed in the West Wing rooms and have heard they should be avoided.

*I did 2 nights at Bellagio and 2 nights at Aria for roughly $600 M-F in June, with a total of $400 resort credit. Pools at Bellagio were amazing to say the least, atmosphere at Aria was also incredible, as were the food offerings.

For what its worth, having stayed at MGM Signature One Bedroom, MGM Signature Deluxe Suite, MGM Grand Executive King, Aria King Strip View, and Bellagio King Fountain View I would rank: Bellagio > Aria > Signature > MGM Grand. I am also a very low roller and travel with my girlfriend. Check out my one week old trip report for pictures of our Aria room.

P.S. Vdara is known for having one of the best spas + MyVegas offers a spa upgrade.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Aria--but I am a cheapeskate (have stayed 3x using MyVegas!)
MGM--I find the property too big, hotel is on the far east side so its a walk, and MyVegas is the crappy rooms. But best pool no doubt.
    Excal--bleh, no thanks.
NYNY--not bad, but I prefer a slightly more central locale.
Vdara--I would give this a try. It is the nicest of the MyVegas offerings BY FAR.
Both Aria & Vdara are a bit of a trek to the Strip as well (like MGM) but at least are more central, and nicer.
Mirage isn't available? That is what we are doing July 27-28. Best pool & location, imo. Or Mandalay Bay? Worst location but nice property & great pool.
WORD OF WARNING--you are 2 weeks out. There is a VERY good possibility that there is NO MyVegas reward availability for your dates. The calendar does NOT update as those rooms sell out (they limit the number of MyVegas rooms that can be booked. If you "buy" a reward & go to book it & they aren't showing comped, go back & return the reward & try another.)
Personally I would do Vdara, then NYNY, then MAYBE MGM (the rest of the rooms r great, but West Wing sucks). Forget Excal. Then book Aria if none of those are available.

I just sent an email to mlife trying to get my crown and anchor status matched. I'm emerald with crown and anchor and going to Vegas in two weeks. We aren't staying at an mlife property but if I successfully get the match competed will I get good deals then and upgrades?

I'm hoping the email will work; not sure

I love Aria. It is by far my favorite place to stay in Vegas so I would recommend it every time. And Javiers is a great place to use that resort credit. Best carnitas ever!

It looks like Aria is the best deal. Not only that, it is (to me) by far the nicest hotel that you list (and one of the nicest in Las Vegas).

just keep in that Aria $200 food and drink can only be used at Aria and not all MGM properties... they are for some odd reason the only mgm property that the resort credit can only be used at Aria...

With venues like Bardot Brasserie and Julian Serranos, $200 will be a breeze

Ah...if you're a room snob Aria makes good sense.
