i imagine this has been done before, but let me try it anyway...
What ahould be on my vegas Playlist?

My tastes are pretty eclectic so I am open to anything. To give you some idea of where I start, here are a few that i have.

Waking up in vegas (katy perry)
    Viva las vegas (elvis)
    Nothing really matters (david guetta)
    Luck be a lady (sinatra).

I have a week to download from iTunes before I leave for a trip. I need stuff to get me in the vegas frame of mind.

    My usual suggestions:
    Seger - "Still the Same"
    Dylan - "Ramblin', Gamblin' Willie"
    Stones - "Tumblin' Dice"
    CCR - "Sailor's Lament"
Emmylou (or Gram Parsons) - "Ooh, Las Vegas"
Clapton - "It's in the Way That You Use It" (from Color of Money)
    Springsteen - "Atlantic City"
(...and a bit obscure, but quite good)
Eric Taylor - "Game of Hearts"

Luck Be a Lady - Sinatra
Viva Las Vegas - The King
Moonlight in Vermont - Stan Getz
    Hang Fire - Rolling Stones
    Anything by - Kenny Barron
Come Fly With Me - Sinatra

Those are my must hear songs either coming into McCarran, or in the limo going to the hotel.

My new ones, not Vegas specific but towards the Vegas state of mind (also do double duty on my gym playlist)

    Never Goin Broke - Iamsu!
    Break Bread - Andre Nickatina
Break the Bank - ScHoolboy Q
I Love My Squad - Iamsu!

and all the Rat Pack, Steely Dan, and Rolling Stones you can stomach! Throw out your gold teeth and see how they roll!

I used to do a Vegas playlist heavy on "Vegas" songs, but I go so much I got tired of most of them! Now I try to do a "theme" on every trip. Birthday or Xmas trips are obvious ones, but I also did a "yacht rock" themed list in March that was fun, and this coming trip I'm doing a list based on songs a radio station I loved when I was a teen would play.

This is a good "Vegas" song that's a little more obscure, though...

It was on a cd that was playing in the limo that took me to the strip for the first time in 1994. Very mellow tune, but packs a boatload of memories every time I hear it.
