Currently have a palms place Airbnb booked for 3 nights for $450 total.

Mandalay Bay is only $50 more for our dates for "run of the house room" compared to Palms Place.

My family will be staying at Excalibur so the location is a bit more convenient. But Palms place looks so nice....

It seems palms has the better room by a long shot, but MB has the better pool and dining and casino.

Delano is another $50 over both which is still doable. Is it worth the premium?

    Thoughts?

Of the 3 I'd probably pick Delano - get the perks of the MB, and be closer to your family at Excal

I have stayed in no-frills MB rooms twice and I was honestly impressed. Nice, large bathroom, tub and separate shower. Rooms have been remodeled recently and they did a nice job. And I love the theme of the resort overall. It can seem a little desolate at times, but so can Palms.

I stayed at Palms once but never Palms place.

Just for the convenience of the tram from MB to excal, I'd pick MB or Delano.

Mandalay Bay base rooms are very nice. Palms is pretty nice too, but I think I'd go with MB for location reasons. I cannot say whether Delano is worth upgrade cost. I would just stick with MB run of house room.

Edit: you didn't mention if you are including resort fees in your price comparison. This could make a big difference.

Yeah I'm including resort fees. This is based on final prices

I'm leaning Resort King at Mandalay Bay, its $10 more than run of the house and guarentees we get a King bed.

I was going to do run of the house thinking Delano was all suite but after some research apparently there is some base rooms that are really awful so Delano is out.

I would choose Delano for the extra $50 over MB. True suite with extra 1/2 bath. It's quiet and you have access to the Delano Beach Club (private pool). The fridge also has a shelf for your own stuff (couple of water bottles).

The MB room is nice, but for a small price difference, there's a number of perks worth the money to stay at Delano.

Finally, if you don't have a car, you'll probably spend at least $50 to $100 going back and forth from the Excalibur, whereas you can just take the tram from MB.

I stayed at Palms Place last year and really liked the room. Bed was reasonably comfy, and it had the biggest bathtub I had ever seen. Room was starting to show it's age a bit, but on the whole a nice place. Biggest downside is the distance. It's a bit of a hike into the Palms proper (which I don't mind, but might be an issue for some), and then of course the Palms' location compared to the Strip can be a challenge.
