I'll be in Vegas that week. Can't wait to get back to Vegas after missing the 2016 year because of heart surgery.
I think on Monday morning i'll have breakfast and then, let's see......what to do next...oh yeah, witness a partial eclipse in Vegas.
I'm trying to decide where to observe it (i won't be driving or have a car), so it will be somewhere on the Strip.
Maybe Lake Como, at the Welcome sign, maybe high atop The STRAT , Eifell Tower, it's a tough one.
The great thing is Vegas skies will be crystel clear.
Here is the solar calender for Vegas on Aug.21 in case anyone else will be in Vegas that day:

An eclipse sounds like a good time to enjoy a Corona! :D

    Have a great time!

Harrah's Cherokee is right in the path of the 100% coverage. Great excuse to go up and make a quick donation!

    How about the High Roller?
Hope you're doing ok from your heart surgery.
I've heard of Vegas trips being planned around all sorts of events, but this is the first one I've heard of being planned around an eclipse!

I'm planning to drive to my alma mater Mizzou that afternoon (80 miles west). Columbia, MO is smack dab in the middle of the total eclipse path.

That's also the week of the Mayweather/McGregor flight. It'll be a madhouse starting Thursday.

LOL Martinr........but i booked my reservation about 4 months ago because i only had one week in August comped for the entire 5 nights, so it wasn't because of the eclipse. But at least, for now, the eclipse doesn't have a resort fee...LOL.
    I'm doing well, thank you.

I'll be there too. I am thinking of heading to Red Rock. I thought about going somewhere where you could see the total eclipse but prices were going crazy by the time I heard about it. The next one is in seven years so I will be better prepared.
