Has anyone actually gone to the American Ninja Warrior tapings?
We saw they added some more showings so I got a voucher for 2:30am Thurs.
Sounds like there could be a lot of standing.
    I'll report back.

No, but I love Vegas and each year I watch the final round of ANW and wish I planned to be out there for the show. I would love to watch that in person. They did Baltimore only one year, but they did it in early March and caught a cold ass night so the crowd was in layers so you know it was extra hard on the competitors to get warm and ready to go for their qualifying run(s).

We did go Wednesday 2:30am. It was mostly a lot of waiting. We waited in line awhile, filled out the waivers.
I think around 3am they started letting people in.
Unfortunately it was kind of the end of the broadcast so there was only one part left. They filled the bleachers there, but the rest of us they just put off to the side so we could try to watch. I think it took them until 4:30 to set everything up and then it was like 5 minutes of action.
I think it was just unlucky timing for us.

We went on Monday night late (tues morn) 12:30. Got in about 1:00 and they started by 1:30. We watched 2 dozen contestants before we left. My son had to work the next morning. It was awesome.

Then yesterday while walking thru the palms after picking up my gift giveaway, I run into Daniel Gil and his wife. Unbelievably nice people.

Why do they tape so late?

Night makes the sets light up for the camera. Also at 10 when they start it was still 105. 97 at 1:30.

I would imagine access (in the places where they tape) is also a concern - not sure where they tape in Vegas? But they tape at Universal studios too, and I imagine it's much easier to do & go where they want when the place isn't open and full of people with rides going....

It's basically right across the street from Mandalay Bay, where the failed Skyvue was supposed to go.
