    Scenario:

At this poker room in LA, this 2/5 game (200-500) runs occasionally. But if it does, its the same players, pretty spewing gambling game. Most pots are multi way, average open raise size is 30, where some people open raise 50 and still get multiple callers. I do know most of the players there except of a few.

    Hero 500, UTG +2 AhAs
    V1 (500 ish) SB
    V2 UTG +1 (1K) super calling station.
V3 UTG +3 (500 ish not sure on exact count)

UTG +1 Limps, I open raise $30 with AhAs, V3 calls, SB Calls, BB folds, UTG +1 calls.

    Pot = $120 after drop. 4 players.

    Flop QhJh4h.
    V1 = SB, checks, V2 UTG +1 checks, I cbet ($60) (?? Bet more?), V3 UTG +3 calls, SB calls, V2 folds.

    Pot 300

    Turn Tc

SB Checks, I cbet $150 (?? bet more??), UTG +3 calls, SB calls.

    Pot 750

    River 3s

SB Checks, What do you do here?

Check/call (with the price you're getting) and hope UTG+3 didn't play with QJ, QT, JT or two hearts.

you could probably open more pre based on your description and stack sizes

Given SPR of under 4 on the flop the hand sort of plays itself given our draw

I kind of want to check the turn and river

You could of bet more pre-flop and on the flop. After that, I would of checked the turn. Your hand isn't looking too good right now. A check/call or check/fold is in order.

Open bigger pre. If they will call bigger regularly, then abuse them for it.

    c-bet bigger.

Maybe switch to x/c on the turn with existing sizing. You're at a point where the hands worse than you will start to believe you, and not many better ones would fold, so not much value in betting.

And what to do on the river could depend a lot on the turn but in a wild table you will often just have to pay off here.

Certainly open bigger pre. This is not something I'd advocate in a 'standard' game but seeing as the game plays big and gambley I'm opening to like $50 here.

As played I'm probably potting on the flop. $60 is just too small and there's a ton of terrible turn cards. If you pot the flop and get raised you still have decent equity vs a made flush to go with it.

Turn isn't a great card tbh, ton of hands just improved. Betting $150 is committing us to the hand really. I don't mind a c/c depending on sizes.

River, meh. shove or check/call. Either way we ain't going anywhere and we pray our 1pair is good.

Bigger pre and bigger on the flop for me. As you mentioned they are stations so it may not of changed things but going 4 way to a flop with Aces and 3 way to a turn on a scary board isn't a fantastic situation.

So I agree with everyone I should have probably opened 45 ish here. I was aware i was in not great position so maybe at the time I leaned toward a "smaller" open.

I knew most of the players behind me saw me as tight so part of me thought if I opened raise larger, I was playing rather face up. Are they that smart to figure that out? I am not sure. I am guessing no.

I ended up checking behind because I really had no idea if one pair was good enough. I was kinda thinking I was as, if someone had two pair, I might see a raise somewhere but who the f knows with these players.

So I checked with the intent on reevaluating UTG+3 action with mostly likely calling it off depending on the bet size.

But he checked back and said Queen, and I showed.

Pre you really have to think about stack sizes. At these stack sizes, say you raise to $50 and get 1 caller. Your SPR is under 5. The hand is simple to play and the "risk" that they catch you is already lessened - you've already got a $100 pot with only $450 behind.

Plus, it's a little easier to get it all in if you raise more pre. $50/$70/$140/$240 is a better way to get stacks in than something like $30/$50/$140/$280. You also get more if someone floats your c-bet.

The time to play it a little more conservatively is when you are deeper and have more to lose at a table where there are decent players willing to call you who can stack you for more than $450 more.

I think you could have opened for a little more as other plays had said. On the flop def a 2/3 size pot bet with as wet as the flop was. You have blockers to AK and have the A of hearts although.

Flop I would have bet at least $80-90.

Turn being a 10 it def is in your opponents range and a lot of 2 pairs get there as well some straights. I would have check/called on the turn.

Not being results oriented but on the river I would have check/called as well.
