I have a friend who's connected to the Nevada Parole Board and as you may have heard, O.J. Simpson has been granted another parole hearing in late July (first one was in 2013). Simpson was convicted of a list of felony violations after going to a Las Vegas hotel room where he and other men were convicted of threatening two sports memorabilia dealers in an attempt to recover property Simpson says had been stolen from him. He's 70 years old now and been out at Lovelock prison since 2008, I think.

What do you think... enough time served? Free the Juice? I don't have strong feelings one way or the other, but think he's served enough time for the crime of which he was convicted. I know there are those who feel he should rot in prison for the Nicole Simpson/Ron Goldman murders, but that's not on the table here. Though he's been incarcerated, I'm told it would hardly qualify as "hard-time". He's been treated well out there, but still, walking through the joint... and I have... reminds me I wouldn't EVER want to spend time inside.

If he's turned down again, I think he'd have to wait another 3 years for consideration.

It's important that he gets out so he can resume his search for the real killer (which he vowed to do) at various golf courses around the country.

I'm not an advocate for him, but I'm among those who think that he was sentenced to far more than the two-bit criminal would have been for the same crime.

Let's pretend he is paroled in the fall. How soon before he's in hot water again? I'm no psychologist, but the guy's mental faculties can't be firing on all cylinders after all these years. Guilt and hard time are unlikely to leave him a man of sound mind.

I really hope he serves every last day. Not because I have anything against him, but because I honestly think he has CTE or another brain injury that profoundly impairs his judgment. If freed, he could easily hurt or even kill someone else (not that he killed anyone, cough cough).

Indifferent but leaning towards letting him out. He was oversentenced for this crime to make up for getting off on the murders. I'm not mad at the judge that did it but at some point the system has to correct itself.

I would rather see Charlie Manson out than Simpson.

Michele Jackson in my view was a pedophile and his show is one of the more popular on strip. Mike Tyson seems to be making money and was a convicted rapist and spent time in jail. Many other examples of how the public just forgets. Free OJ. But I guess it is Karma for serving for this crime while not getting convicted in the murder of Nicole. Charlie Manson if let out would be a popular show in Vegas.

people are certainly quick to forget a lot of ugly stuff. or they just block it out even when it is proven to be true.

I'm not forgetting that he hacked to death two human beings, one of which was his wife and the mother of his children, who he terrorized for years, and then nonchalantly went his way because he is "The Juice" and who was acquitted by a jury that was terrified of kicking off another riot.

I sure as hell hope your joking but sadly I believe you are not. Even if we knew simspon was guilty, the murder of Nicole and Ron does not hold a candle to the evil that is Manson. What he did and orchestrated is on an whole other level than a double murder.

His sentence was way too harsh, imo, but karma is a motherfucker.

Finally there is a case where a judge having discretion to give a convict a long sentence for a relatively minor crime actually serves justice and protects society, and there are people who want to parole him. Doesn't make sense to me. I hope he never gets out.
