Anyone stayed at Nobu? I'm trying it in August.

I've been toying with the idea of doing another trip in August for the GGWU point's bonus.
I had been trying to find tickets and up until today - they were too expensive. Finally
able to get some reasonable flight prices August 11 - 15th. Put them on hold until I check
work tomorrow and make sure nothing big is going on during that time.

I got booked into NOBU for my first time ever. I have always stayed in the Augustus
Tower, but it sounded like something different to try. They offered me full comp, some FB,
and some nice bonus points for my stay there.

I will be in one of the renovated Luxury King Rooms. Wondering if anyone has stayed there?

I think it might be fun to try something new, but if anyone has any negatives - please let me know.
    Or positives either!

    Thanks!
    J

IMHO, the rooms are TINY (compared to Augustus Tower). If you get claustrophobic, this might be uncomfortable for you. And the showers are the "open stall" design. (no shower door)

Also, the comp rate on the Nobu room is MUCH higher than the $200 a night for Augustus Tower Fountain View. If you plan on taking backend comps, be prepared to "up" your play by a substantial amount.

I swore off Caesars Palace (except for special occasions) because of the increase in the comp value of the rooms.

I thought that the GGWU bonus (weekday) event was July 31-August 2nd.

I have Nobu comped for weekdays. Based on the room size and comp value, not worth it to me. Also, not a fan of CP anyway. My CET preference for the last few years has been Paris. My last few stays had Red Room booked, but upgraded to various suites. Next trip is this August, Burgundy booked and I am fine with that. Hopefully another suite upgrade. My stays are Mon-Thurs, so I am sure that helps with upgrades. I would stick with AT in your situation, if not, enjoy Nobu.

I think it might be interesting to try for a few nights.

The main positive is you might like the decor, and the location is good if you spend lots of time in the casino - it's right next to Cleopatra's Barge.

I'd say the main negatives are the room size (if you're used to Augustus) and I don't think most of the rooms have much of a view unless you're on one of the top floors facing the strip.

Everything said about the Nobu room size is accurate. But if you're travelling solo, what does it matter. I have rarely used all the extra space in the Augustus or octavius tower rooms.

Thanks for the response. The Luxury King is supposed to be 400 sq. ft so I think that will be ok for a few nights. I do love Augustus
though - but I would like to try it for a few nights.

The GGWU is 2 times for August - my host sent me the computer readout so I could see it all - It shows
as 07-31 to 08-02 and then 08-11 to 08-13. I always ask him to send it to me before the mailers go out - I like
to "get a sneak peak" early.

I may not like it - but I think it does have a few nice things I might like - the cocktail party Friday night
sounds fun and I like the free coffee and water everyday. The shower is no problem for me - I'm solo.

    Thanks for responding!

Thanks for the response - I may not stay there again, but I would like to try it once. I can always go back to Augustus if
I don't like it - thanks for responding.

Thanks Chuck - I do love Augustus - but they have me slated for one of the top floors, so hopefully I will
get a decent view. I just wanted to try it for a change. I have been staying exclusively in Augustus for
years and I thought something new might be fun. It is only for 4 nights. I think I can live with 400 sq ft for a few
    nights LOL.

    Thanks for the response!

Thanks - I appreciate the response!

I think it will be fun to try something different for one trip.

Its very different than the other CP towers. You only asked about the negatives, but a few other positives I will offer: Nobu tower has its own 24/7 fitness room (albeit very small), the Asian style furnishings are close to the ground (which I like), and the separate concierge and checkin means you can avoid the madness of the CP main lobby. Its even less crowded than the Diamond checkin lounge

Thank you for the insights. I may not do it again, but I am game for one time for something a bit different.
I was looking at everything they sent me and I will go to the cocktail party the first night, and I will
probably appreciate the free coffee and iced water with easy access. The gym looks nice - although not
sure I want to do anything there on a short trip and vacation - I'm only there for 5 days - that is short to me.
The breakfast in-room dining looks good, I will probably try that for sure at least 1 morning.

    I really appreciate your response.

Another nice thing about Nobu is the elavators. We went to the room at least 4 times a day for 5 days and never did share the elavator.

Thanks - that is something that will be nice. No sloppy drunks or people that have
no clue about personal space in an elevator. Thanks for the response.
