Was told yesterday in Vegas that within the next 5 years they will start tearing up the strip to replace the sewer system. Bartender says people working there are really upset with the MESS this will have on trying to get anywhere.
I'm sure they'll make every effort to minimize the impact, but let's be honest... nothing lasts forever and opening up Las Vegas Blvd to replace sewer lines won't go off without a hitch!
Someone told me that some of the bigger hotels are not connected to the sewer system, Flamingo in particular, and that it all goes into a huge cesspool or holding tank that gets pumped out in the early morning. I honestly don't know if this is true, but that's what "they" tell me.
......mobster bodies scattered up and down the Strip like porn pamphlets as they dig up the street......
City Center construction was a bitch. * I'm not an engineer........but i play one on TV...........however..... How in the world would a Strip of HUGE resorts......all funnel waste into a single/ or double waste pipeline ?........now that's a load of sh*t, people !
I believe that to still be true. I was there a couple of years ago and the smell was terrible. I watched one evening as they had to have a dump truck full of soda ash poured down a manhole right next to the Linq promenade sign.
Hopefully it will help to cut down on the overpowering stench of raw sewage that is prevalent on some spots of the Strip.
That will probably depend on how full the sewer pipes are and whether they implement an odor-control system, like a scrubber or adding bleach.
