Quick Hit Platinum The one I hit $12,000 on Christmas Day some years ago on a $10 bet. Merry Christmas to me . . .
I like the original....no extra bells/whistles except the Quick Hits. Hit 9k on a $1.50 bet some years ago at the "Fitzgerald"
I agree with the $1.50 max bet ones, but it's hard to pick a favorite. More often than not I go with good ol' Quick Hit Platinum, but the new one, Quick Hit Midnight Diamonds is pretty fun...I've played $1.50 max bet at a local casino and it has a couple fun in-game bonus features on top of the triggered bonus.
Quick Hit games (certain ones) are probably my top go-to game. I go out for 8-11 days at a time, with a good deal of time with my fanny firmly planted on various QH games. My rule on any QH, I will not get on unless I am playing max bet, as it's brutal on small jackpots if you're anything but max...slow death. I also don't like burning through money too quickly though, so unless I am ahead, I traditionally target the $1.50 max bet. Though, there are two I will pay higher max (see below). The QH Games I like: I always love QH Free Game Fever. This has been my go to, especially at $1.50 a spin. There are Two Quick hit games I WILL play a 3$ max spin: Quick Hit Black Velvet (decent game)...and my new, crowning QH preferred champion...Quick Hit Riches. Now THIS game I ADORE. It is usually $3 a spin, so I won't play unless I am up a little, but when you hit the free spin bonus (QH Riches), it has multipliers that can go up crazy amounts when you win a free spin bonus---without being a multi-machine progressive like MegaMllions/bucks, which I won't touch. On one bonus round with QH Riches, the top prize was 789kish...pretty darned good for a $3 spin! Now, am I going to hit that? probably not....but considering my Free Game Fever games top out around 19k/39k for a max (depending on max bet), if I am going to "spin bigger" it's nice knowing it's an amount I could retire early on. (21k, its not happening. 700k? That's different.) I also like that when you don't hit the top progressive, even modest progressives or free spin bonuses can pay out a healthy amount. It is now my top, favorite, crowning gem of QH for me personally! Granted I could have hit it on good days, good machines, whatever. BUT QH Riches is one of the few games I've played where you have a chance at a really great payout, but you can also amass solid "keep me alive/play for hours for free" wins. So, my list on QH games I like: TOP: QH Riches Second: QH Free Game Fever OR Midnight Diamonds (really like this one!) Third: QH Black Velvet (Also like 24 karat, but not as much) Also am ok with any of the old school QH, but play them less frequently now The QH games I avoid: anything with TOO many icons that just seem thrown in there to block "winning" combinations. Some love QH Platinum or Diamond, I am not one. Why? Unless you get the 5, the payouts for a Platinum/diamond combo are irritating. I finally scored 4 diamonds. 5 would have been $17,000. For 4? I won $37 bucks. Not impressed. I also avoid Cash Spin, any of the Quick Hits with the wheel spin bonus, etc. If they have a multiple bonus Icons (free spin, OR cash spin OR money bag pick, etc.)...they tend to just junk up spins unless you're very very lucky. QH Platinum (Though it gets brownie points for treating DaiLun well! ) QH Cash Spin QH Cash Wizard QH Las Vegas QH Pro Any QH "adventure" series, jungles, playboy, etc. (adventure series is my name, just what I call their more off-the-path games, butterflies, bunnies, wizards, etc.) So-So on QH Wild Blue or Wild Red...I'd almost rank these as neutral. I know they're free game fever, but I'm so so on them. On Quick Hit Blue and Quick Hit Red, I should like these as there aren't a lot of "junk it up" icons, but I usually only hop on these if the mini jackpot looks close to striking. (At 3$spin, mini has to be $44+ or so. At $1.50 max, $22+. Yes, I am one of those annoying "QH hit and run" types on these games.) P.S. everyone likes different QH, I'd be curious which you find you wiND up liking best, have a blast!
I know it's way too much. But I've lost good money trying out QH games I find I DON'T like, so hopefully my lost money will help you save some of yours!
A topic that finally got me out of lurkdom. I really like QH platimum plus (round spinny wheel up top) and if a casino has it, yes I ask if they do, I must play it before I leave. I won $100 on it at Luxor which is part of it, but you know what it is, it's the stupid song on that particular variation.
Multifarious5, heck of a post. Thanks for the advice. Going to look for Riches and Fever when im Vegas next week!
The three-reel, five line, $0.25 machines... preferably the blazing 7s. Just something so pure about them. They are getting harder to find, though. A year ago there were a few towards the TR booth at Paris, and a bank of them shredded some serious money at Cromwell, however, the ones at Horseshoe Hammond (just outside of Chicago) have always treated me well, even though they have been bumped up to $1 machines (with a $5 max bet).
QH Platinum is my go to. Tried some of the others, seems like bonus rounds are few and far between and pay poorly.
I'm a sucker for Quick Hits. My sentimental favorite is the 5 quarter version but as noted above, it's getting harder and harder to find. As of NYE, there were still a couple in Paris, including the Black Gold one that I hit for $10,000 (9 QH in a bonus) a few years back. My go to game is the plain old Platinum with $1.50 max. It's a great game to pound out points with potential for a big win. Generally I agree with Multifarious5 about max betting on QH, but occasionally will play less if circumstances dictate it. I hit all 5 Platinums on a cruise ship playing 60 cents on a 2 cent machine. If I had been max betting, I would have been out of money long before this hit, so I gratefully took the $3000 and ignored the people saying "If only you had been betting max." I'm not impressed with the newer versions, as they just seem to take my money faster in spite of all the noise they make!
At my local found a QH machine, $.01 Demon, reels, think it was 7's or something. $1 max bet. Love that machine. Just found it. I do like QH that are $1.50 max a lot. Does anyone know the volatility of QH? Would it trend to low or high?
Ditto. Stopped at a local on Father's Day a couple of years ago for a free buffet and to burn off some free play. Played a $0.02 machine at 30 credits ($0.60/bet) and hit 9 Quick Hits for $1500. The $12,000+ would have been nice, but the $3/spin max would have lasted about 5 spins of free play and I would have never hit it.
I too won't bet more than $1.50 max bet on these, but they are fun. Thankfully I don't play them enough to know which is which - I just look at the jackpot totals!
