I'm a low, and lowering roller in Vegas. A few years ago I was dropping $20K coin-in a year exclusively at Mlife resorts and getting some attractive offers as a result.

As the machines have tightened though in recent years (or my luck has soured), I've tired of feeding them $100 bills only to be walking away shaking my head 10 minutes later. This seems to be the case for me no matter the resort or resort company. As a result my coin-in per year now is probably $10K or less.

My question is - do you more seasoned comp pros out there think that, at that level of play, it would be better for me to spread that bankroll around, feeding TR, Mlife, Identity, Grazie etc in an effort to attract teaser offers from them, or better to concentrate that play at one resort I'm REALLY interested in gaining status with (knowing that even then I'm still not going to get very deep into anyone's rewards program)?

    Thoughts?

I don't think you need to concentrate on one, because you can usually get at least one round of teaser offers out of each chain/place with a small amount of play. It doesn't take much coin-in to get a teaser if you have no prior history. A couple hundred coin-in is plenty at CET for example.

Only thing I would say is that it looks to me like some chains are shortening up the amount of time they will continue to send teasers if you don;t take them up on one. Venetian/Palazzo stopped sending after a year the last time I seeded them, Cosmo I think may stop after a year, Boyd stopped after a year.

I don't know how often you go. But instead of seeding a bunch of places on the same trip, I would seed one place each trip with an eye on using a teaser offer on the next one.

When you go and use the teaser, play your normal amount and seed some other place. Then wait to see what your normal play level got you for offers, if they're no good, you'll have another teaser coming along.

CET is a no-brainer. Venetian/Palazzo and Wynn are probably going to require the most coin in to get a good full-comp teaser. Even though I've never stayed there, one good thing about Wynn is that I only set foot in there once, seven years ago, did about $150 coin-in, and they're still sending me offers with $129 weekday rates with a 3rd night free.

I would add Treasure Island to your list, and probably an off-strip place like Orleans.

Chuck makes some solid points regarding a strategy so to speak, and I can vouch for Wynn. I played a little yrs ago to get a free buffet by joining Red Card, haven't played since, and still have $129 rates with $200FP if staying 3 nights.

The good thing about CET is they don't care which property you play at. Our home casino is Planet Hollywood but we will play at every casino from there to Harrahs. As long as we are playing at one of their properties we are golden.

If you just want room offers, it seems you have a bankroll that you can spread around a bit and get some nice room offers back. But if you want room + free play + food offers, you will probably need to concentrate your play a bit. With a chain like CET, they are going to data mine you and give you a really good offer if your demographics suggest they can get more play out of you for a good offer. Some of the rest will want to see some healthy play to get their better offers.

I go 4 times a year. Your suggestion to spend a trip bankroll in one resort or chain makes sense. I think I've mined CET for all they're worth this year (they're on to my "get free rooms but don't gamble there" shtick), but I love the suggestion of trying Wynncore. It's the one spot I've never really put any coin-in at all.

I absolutely think this is very, very wise advice. If you seed too many at once, you may not be able to redeem all the teasers...and they do have a window before they start whittling off.

We are big on seeding one, MAYBE two properties at a time, and not reseeding until we know we're in a spot to use a new teaser. Case in point. I really, REALLY want to stay at V/P, but I have two higher end hotels which are giving us comped rooms+RC+FP offers still. I know I can keep one, maybe two afloat at one time, but there is no way I can keep comps coming in at three top properties with my bankroll, so I will wait to seed V/P until one of my existing higher-end homes starts looking like it's starting to dry up.

Its kind of like Groupon dinners....if you're buying dinners for a set time frame, and you know you can only eat out 4 times in that time frame, buying 8 is wasted effort, you might as well just seed what you know you can pluck, and reseed when you are close to ready again. :) (But always have one backup seeded, just in case.)

I'd personally target a higher-end property and a lower-mid end property at one time. If you get a high-end property you like, you can focus future play there and possibly keep their offers coming, if it's a one-time redemption, you have a backup.

I did get teasers from them for a while, they were full comp offers, based on only $150 coin in, and I do still get essentially casino rate offers, but mind you that was 7 years ago when things were really bad. So I don't know if $150 would hold up these days, I'd suggest something more along the lines of $500 or $1,000. And I have no idea how much they want on an ongoing basis. I think there are several people here who stay at Wynn regularly, but I don't recall seeing much in the way of them posting stats, although the basic math shouldn't really be much different than anywhere else.

Yeah for a "high end" place like Wynn I would imagine they aren't going to comp you the moon unless you've put in the effort. Have thrown about the $5-600 level into Grazie over the last two trips and have gotten nothing but daily email spam from them. Stuff like "third night free" but with a full rack rate.
