    My Trip Report

Friday I got out of work a little early to try and beat the traffic. I wasn't early enough with the Memorial Day weekend rush. I think it only took an extra 20 to 25 minutes to get to the GN Lake Charles, so not horrible.

Got king room low floor pool view, but had the fancy bath tub and the bathroom did not have a wall between the tub and bed, but it did have a curtain there instead. I didn't take a pic. It also had a sectional seating area by the window and small balcony. Again no pic, I failed.

I was itching to get my gambling on and play video poker, so I hung up some shirts and put some money in the safe, and took 1800 to play my 10-play ddb at the $1. I then realized I needed to eat, as I snacked at lunch. Landry's for some shrimp.

I was able to find one of the machines I like, and got playing ddb with 300. I quickly hit two four aces (no kicker) when dealt trips and my hand pays started within 5 minutes of sitting down. That is what I call seed money, as I end up cycling through a lot money at 10-play.

I have pics of all of the hand pays, but I won't over run this with the many small hand pays or the many aces kicker.

But I will show the good stuff, like the Royal 35 minutes after that first hit, holding one ace.

Then 10 minutes later dealt quad 8s.

Then 15 minutes later, hand pay quad 3s and another with a kicker for 1350. When it rains it pours. 30 min later aces kicker.. 1 hour later another aces kicker.

I did play my free play on top dollar, since I can't play it on vp. Turned 100 into 600, when I finally got the 1000 offer. I was playing .50. Then I played some tables games for a while and lost some money. Went back for one more late night run for another aces kicker. Went to bed at 3am. Very good vp day.

Finally rolled out of bed around noon and got down to Landry's for some calamari and gumbo. Then off to play VP.

My first hit was another Royal holding three this time.

15 minutes later, dealt quad 6s.

About an hour later, aces kicker. 30 mins later, aces kicker. 10 mins later aces kicker.

Then I was up a lot and thought I would not risk it and play BJ, but I got side tracked by miss stud. Lost some. Played BJ and lost some more. I did play free play at top dollar again and turned 100 into 800. But dumped it at the tables.

Finally got to my senses went back to play vp to get dealt quad 9s.

Then 25 mins later aces kicker with another aces.

    1 hour later aces kicker.

Needed a dinner break. I ate at saltgrass steakhouse for dinner, with a good filet and baked potato and that bread. Tortilla soup was good too.

Played more table games to no avail. Called it a night.

Sunday, and I was up and went to Landry's for some shrimp before 11:30am. Vp after that, and hit my first aces kicker for the day after 15 mins. 30 mins later, aces kicker.

Still rolling good. 45 mins later. Held 4 to a royal and got one to hit. Yes...

    40 mins later, aces kicker

20 mins after that. Held 2 to a royal and got one to fill out. What! Four royals this trip. This one just an hour after my last one.

20 mins later a small hand pay for 3 times quad deuces, when dealt 3 of them.

I ran a little dry after that, so tried to play some table games. No luck.

Ate at Saltgrass again, love that place. GN has some good food for my comps.

Monday, need to check out by 11 and I has some promo chips to play for table games. They are not play until you lose, and I could only play pretty much even money bets. I tried double deck blackjack. I converted 64 percent. Then I went to my vp haven for a quick see what I can do.

With first 300 in, I hit quad aces quickly, no kicker to up my bankroll. Then aces kicker 15 mins later. Then just 8 mins after that, look what the cat dragged in.

Dealt me quad deuces. I had a chance for the kicker draws, and I got the 3 of them.

By the time I got paid for that, it was time to go pack. I decided to hit the road to beat the traffic and it was not raining like it was supposed to be. And I figured, I could not do much better than that walk off home run.

I had a really good trip. It seems like I could do no wrong playing video poker. I gained tons of tier credits, and I hit the elite level, just not done yet in the books. I also gained a lot of food comps, which I will need to start hitting up Saltgrass here in Houston to use them. They state they expire 365 after being earned. I am earning them faster than I can use them on property.

The VP gods were definitely smiling on you this trip. It's cool that they let you use comps at Saltgrass in Houston that you earned at the GN.

Yes, 6%. I do get to file out of state with them at tax time and get some of it back.

After filing taxes with LA, it comes out to about 1.4% rake.

Just from this weekend alone they are holding a pretty good junk of change for me for next April.

that looks like so much fun, especially the 10 play part. I have never practiced that much at VP, so I never have tried the 10 play. you sure would make a good spokesperson for it though. congrats!

At the end he mentions hitting up Saltgrass in Houston since the comps are only good for 365 days. I'm curious if he can use his comps at Houston area Salt Grass locations..

I ate at my local Saltgrass last night, in Houston. Paid with my comp dollars. Awesome. That is a great benefit.

That is an awesome benefit. I might have to pay them a visit on my next trip to Louisiana.

That's insane luck for GN LC! I have had nothing but terrible luck there lately. I think I might have even been there that weekend to. I'd have to go back and check but I think we were there Thursday and Friday night.

Yes, the food there is awesome and being able to use the comps at local resturaunts is great especially since I'm right in the thick of them here on the south side of town. Unfortunately I never leave the Casino with much in comp dollars..lol.

I think I was in the neighborhood of 3.5 to 4 times more than I brought in profit from VP that weekend. But that was a very lucky weekend.
