    My Trip Report

Hi folks this is my first attempt at a trip report and thought I would contribute one as it could be my last trip to Vegas for a while. Just feel like I need to see a bit more of the world and with a 10 hour plus flight I can get to most places. I have holidays planned in Cuba in October and Texas perhaps in March so it will be a minimum of a year before I could get back to Vegas but may leave it now until Resorts World opens or Paradise park.

The purpose of this trip was to try and visit every hotel/casino I haven't managed to see on my previous 4 trips. These were namely The Palazzo, Wynn, Encore and The Cosmopolitan plus I have never seen The Park behind Monte Carlo so I wanted to fit that in too.

Anyway the flight left on time from Manchester (UK) and we were due to arrive at lunchtime on Thursday the 28th of May.

    Thursday 28th

Arrived on time in Vegas and a very windy landing. Few people on the plane had their head in their hands and another was crying but it was ok in the end. Other than flight the flight was ok apart from drunks standing around for most of the flight but guess you come to expect that on Vegas flights from the UK.

We took Uber for the first time from the airport and was a pretty quick trip up Paradise Road and $14 was more than worth it. We just mooched around The Westgate for the afternoon and played some slots as we were both a bit tired and didn't fancy the journey to the Strip that day.

    IMG_1049.JPG IMG_1051.JPG IMG_1052.JPG IMG_1060.JPG IMG_1074.JPG IMG_1075.JPG IMG_1079.JPG IMG_1080.JPG

Always great to see Lake Mead etc as you are getting close to landing. Not so great when you see you have 9 hours left as you are flying close to Iceland.

Not the greatest view we have ever had in Vegas but really wanted to try The Westgate as so much history there. Good idea in the rooms to give you a $10 voucher for every day you do not require cleaning/fresh towels. We just asked one of the cleaners for a few towels and swiped a toilet roll as we walked past on the day we didn't use the housekeeping. Housekeeping always catches us at the wrong time so we used the no housekeeping service a couple of times which contributed to a bottle of wine for me to enjoy in the room.

(Edit) We are taking a $5k gambling budget.

Woke up about 5am and body clock all over the shop (or could be hungover) Anyway our usual routine is to head to Ellis Island for a hearty breakfast (as great as usual) and then we decided to visit an off strip place which we decided on Tuscany suites. We hit the monorail and got to Ballys therefore pretty close on Koval for our breakfast. Played an hour in Tuscany suites but didn't visit bar365 as I was told all the craft beer isn't comped anymore.

After there we headed to The MGM and over to Excalibur for some gambling fun before heading back to The Westgate for some video poker and slots via Uber as we couldn't be bothered to navigate the MGM again to the monorail.

Pretty much got up late after a heavy day and night and my wife wasn't at her best. We decided to lounge around the pool for a while then head over to Palms Place (cafe 6) for build your own burgers etc. Fair way to go for a burger but my wife loved it there after we stayed at Palms Place in November and she wanted the salmon burger again. Not too many pics today and basically we headed back to The Westgate afterwards for the rest of the day/night for some more degen activity in the casino. IMG_1101.JPG IMG_1102.JPG IMG_1106.JPG

Had the full day at The Westgate as we wanted to try the concierge lounge and get our moneys worth. Basically just fancied a lazy day not getting dressed up for a day out n about. It cost $40 each per day but I wouldn't really recommend it. Breakfast was so so and the evening canapé etc were pretty dire. We had a chill out in there and I drank a nice bit of red wine in the evening.

Since you were at the Westgate, I'm curious if you went to the "Sexxy Show"?

Headed up to The Lucky Dragon as have never visited it either. Found it a nice place but not the greatest position near Bonanza gift store. Seemed pretty dead in there but hopefully they can make it work. Went onto the Stratosphere then and some dodgy characters. Offered drugs twice while just playing the slots. Didn't manage any pictures of the dealers.

Headed down to The Linq for some food after a couple of hours of video poker. Always enjoy the food at Chayo Mexican Kitchen + Tequila Bar. Portions a bit small but still tasty. Onto The Aria and The Bellagio and to have a look at The Park.

Totally agree. I've had one concierge day comped with my room offers. When it first opened a year or two ago, it was pretty decent then. It quickly went downhill quickly on future visits. It has a kind of deserted, lonely vibe. And the bar isn't that great either. I don't think it's worth $40, but at least you got to try it.

I'm surprised you didn't mention the timeshare sales people bothering you in the hotel lobby!

If you are waiting for Resorts World to open for your next trip, it might be a long time!

Those were probably slot hosts there! ;-)

Thanks for taking the time to post the report!

Played an hour or so video poker early doors while the wife was getting ready and watched the Europa League final. Nice that Man Utd won after the recent events in Manchester. Headed over to visit The Pallazo, Wynn and Encore which I hadn't seen then onto Circus Circus for some ribs. Hit 7 quads in an hour that morning just crazy.

Really didn't do much today apart from had a blast in some casinos. Spent a fortune chasing losses but hey ho we are in Vegas so you come to expect it. Went for a meal in Sid's Cafe at The Westgate but it really wasn't up to much. No hits at Video Poker or anything interesting today to post really.

We were pretty much toasted after a long gambling and drinking session again. Mrs was getting smashed on Dragon Spin and me at video poker. Only thing for it was to carry on drinking and gambling. I had enough of guinness by this time so thought would be a good idea to swap to bloody mary's. Pretty much spent more time gambling on this trip than any previous one but could be our last for a couple of years so may as well go out in a blaze of glory. Only 1 decent hit all day but at least the drinks were flowing. Called to pick a bottle up of one of the USA's greatest exports for a friend of mine. IMG_1186.JPG IMG_1116.JPG

Was up early doors to watch the FA Cup Final in The Westgate Sportsbook. Got some good banter at the bar and a great game to go with it. Went over to Vince Neils for a steak and bottle of wine special which is pretty decent value. Mrs finally hit a nice win while I was at the bar but she forgot to take a picture of the win as people were watching and she was nervous. She hit the 2nd highest white ball bonus thingy on Dragon Spin which paid out $1.2k on $1 spins. Doubt she even broke even on it this week but at least she had fun playing it.

Going home today and always feel I can do a few more days. Anyway had a nice flight time so had to be at the airport by 11am for our flight. Two hour delay going home and I can never sleep on the flights so was a very long day. had a couple of quick drinks in the casino with a final fling on the slots.

Can see it being a couple of years for us before we head back Vegas but we have been 5 times in a little over 2 and a half years so we need to try other things. Will go back again at some point but it will probably coincide with something new opening or a show the wife really wants to see.

Now its Wednesday 31st and have only recovered from the flights etc. Good job I am my own boss so can pace myself gently back into it. Thanks for reading my trip report and can someone explain these patterns in these hills/mountains on our flight home?

Just totted up and we finished $3.5k down gambling. I did enjoy it though it is only money and we work hard to be able splurge on slots etc in our favourite place. Will do a shout out to Eduardo and Cesar at the International Bar at The Westgate for looking after us on our trip.

Good thing on our Cuba trip later in the year we will be lucky to spend $500 in the 2 weeks we are there :)

Those circles are from irrigation pivots. Watering the dry land for crops.

Great hit by your wife. Just below the taxable limit.

Thanks for doing your TR, enjoyed reading.

They didn't really bother us to be fair. We were polite with them kept walking and brushed them off. After a few days they must have recognised us as we were hardly approached after that only to say hello/good morning etc.

Is the international bar where most/all your Westgate quads were from?

I saw one quad while you were playing 7/5 Super DDB (98.61%), so I should add that game to the bartop sticky along with the 8/5 Bonus. Westgate is one of those places that I keep meaning to go to, but never seem to make it out there. :(

    Nice report!

Yeah those seven were all at the International Bar on the same machine. Tend to sit at the same machine generally unless I have someone loud next to me. Guess worth nipping over to The Westgate especially if you have a monorail pass one day.

Wouldn't recommend the food there but for gambling there was plenty for everyone and quite a few people knocking around with good floor service also.
