I read the Orleans buffet was closed for remodeling but would be open in a different location for breakfast and lunch only. Has anyone heard how long this will be for?

I've looked but can't find details of the remodeling. All the Orleans site says is that it was closed May 15 and relocated for only breakfast and lunch. I'm staying there for 5 days in June and hoped to try it once maybe twice with a LVA coup. Oh well, there are more than enough good places to eat in Vegas. I don't eat enough to make buffets worth the price anyway. Maybe I can get a free refrigerator at check in for the inconvenience. Worth asking for. Hope someone has more info than I could find.

It's most likely directly across in the space where that the cafe and Prime Rib loft used during their remodels. It would be large enough for breakfast or lunch crowds but not for dinner. There are a ton of restaurants at the Orleans so it shouldn't cause that much disruption.

Wow! I had no idea that this was happening. I wonder how long it will take to complete the renovations? I guess it depends on how extensive they are.

I was about to type that I was surprised there was no warning, but then I caught myself.I've given up trying to figure out what's going on with Boyd these days.

I'll bet it's a cluster #@^& tomorrow once all the "old farts" figure this out on Young at Heart day!

There has been conversation off and on for a good while about nearly every restaurant at Orleans getting retooled. They were down to the buffet and Big Al's. It wasn't clear if they are doing anything about Friday's or to the food court but everything else was in play.

Didn't eat at the old buffet yet but sure hope it doesn't turn out like their old café transformation.
Have not eaten there since. What a shame.

My local friend went last week. He was quite disappointed. Said there were very few choices and it wasn't very good.

I would say probably best to avoid it until after the renos are complete.

I emailed the marketing dept and they said it would be closed for 4 months.

I'm guessing the profit margins on the buffet aren't too stellar, otherwise I can't imagine they'd shut the place down for 4 months just for a visual overhaul. The buffet could even be a loss leader for the casino, drawing in crowds who spend elsewhere on the property. I ate there in January and thought it was pretty solid, and I was definitely surprised at how cheap it was. I don't know if they can profit at those price points, but I guess part of their benefit is that they cater to an older crowd which, on average, may have a smaller appetite.

I'm sure they're thinking they'll make up some of the lost revenue at other property eateries, too.

Still, 4 months seems like a crazy timeframe for a cosmetic change.

I would not visit the Orleans during these 4 months.

When they spoke if renovations, they never really went into details about what they were doing but the impression given was that it would be more upscale. For the size of it, four months makes sense. It makes sense to do it now because fall should be busier than summer so they will miss less business.

Disturbed by the folks who won't stay there while tghw buffet is closed. It was a good value but wouldn't make or break a trip for me.

any update on the progress of the French Market Buffet remodel? If they were targeting a return to service of mid-September, will they make it and when do you think the grand-reopening will actually occur?
