On a very tight budget for a last minute trip, would you stay at the Renaissance Las Vegas Hotel?

It's one of the few hotels that has rates under $100 a night including the resort fee and still offers a higher quality room. My Girlfriend has sworn she won't stay downtown anymore after 2 bad experiences, so this seems like a solid off strip option. The monorail stop looks pretty close to the hotel.

Would you stay here? Hows the walk to the monorail? We're mostly going to be spending time with friends and family this time as we'll be here for the NHRA drag races, though we'll be spending a day or 2 on the strip as well.

Pricing even the cheapest strip hotels with the resort fees and parking makes this the cheapest option for us by about $50 a night, even after I factor in monorail tickets (bogo myvegas)

It's a Marriott so I'd imagine it's good...u mentioned no downtown and no strip, but what about places like palms?

The strip isn't really out per se... Our budget for 3 nights Oct 26th-29th is pretty strict at $500 max though, which considering parking etc. really limits our strip options. The palms seems interesting, I'll look at the rates.

No deposit needed on the marriott so I just booked it anyway to lock in the low rate while I shop around.

Are you going to have car? If so check out Suncoast. Did it in March for NASCAR and going to do again for the drags in OCT.

    tell us a bit more.

Are you flying or driving to Vegas? Even cheap rental cars still cost more than walking and uber - for most people - not all.
Do you have flexibility on dates? I say this as rooms can get well under $100 on some days at many CET hotels.

I would give Trip Advisor a shot for more reviews. The race is probably factored into the prices for most hotels but if they don't sell some may come down. Keep checking from time to time.

None of the off strip places charge for parking so that won't be a factor. Do you care if you stay at a casino? Personally I like easy access to craps so I don't stay anywhere without one.

Station has a lot of good options in your budget. All with free parking. So does Boyd (Orleans, Gold Coast)

Casino isn't required for us this trip.

Our highest priorities are easy access to the strip but free parking and we want a higher-end hotel we typically stay at places like Mandalay Bay or Aria or Vdara

Palms would be a good option.

Best option. Leave the gf at home and you stay downtown.

How about Gold Coast??? They do run a shuttle to the strip and has free parking. When I just looked up rates you could book for $471.xx including tax and resort fees for those three nights.

So I guess Circus Circus Casino Tower room would be out? Booking.com has this for $455 all in and includes 2 buffets, free parking and free wifi. Pretty hard to screw up a breakfast buffet.

Yeah Circus Circus would be out, been there before and really didn't like it. Guess we're picky, but it's way too dirty and run down for us.

Many posts seem to want to steer away from the Renaissance it seems, any reason why?

I think you would love the Palms or Palms Place they are right next door to each other, with really easy access to the strip. And also free parking. Typically room rates are really affordable too and you can also score a free upgrade using the $20 trick at Palms Place and maybe get a suite 1 floor from the Penthouse like I did last time. Stayed there twice now and the rooms are clean.

Actually, if anyone can screw up a breakfast buffet, its Circus Circus.

You guys are asking a lot for the price you are willing to pay - even for Vegas.

Yeah I know. We normally have a budget for the room of $1k+ but this trip is sort of last minute and slammed a month before another vacation
