There are ridiculous margins from the food and drinks from what I have heard. Easy money maker if you are set up right. Vegas Dave, by looking at your profile pic, I see you hit the six card bonus. Where and how much, if you dont mind.

Sure did. Was at my local in Pleasanton. It was a 5 card straight flush to king or queen with $5 on the bonus bet. 200:1 paid $1k!

I'll be on solo trip June 30-July 3 on solo trip, staying at Bellagio. Already told MiamiDave. If you want to meet up for craps or blackjack. I would be the third Dave though.

They are telling me (the ubiquitous "they") that the sale will not be complete for several months.

I get emails from the SLS still. Foxtail Night Club looks like its still pretty popular. No clue what is happening at The Sayers Club.

    EDIT:

I just checked their website and it looks like the Sayers Club runs Thur/Fri/Sat night? Who knows.

I find this one funny. The SLS hasn't been open for 'ages'.

So we agree that SLS has a night club, Jazz or not that's a club. If they arent looking for the clubbing crowd, and they cant pull in the gamblers with that tiny casino AND they are too far removed from the center Strip to attract the casual tourist. Just who are they catering to? From what I hear, certainly not the locals that can pump blood into a place.

    What a mess!

I thought they were trying to hit on the 20-30 somethings from California.

Here's what I like and what I don't like about the SLS: LOVE The restaurants. I love CLEOs and KATSUYA. If you have not tried them, they are worth a special trip. In fact, that is why I go there. The rooms are very nice and it is an easy upgrade to a suite if you are much of a player. Don't Like: Mysterious slot club and now there is a new one. I never know what I am getting with it. I have hit a few jackpots on the slots, so I would rate them a bit looser than most of the strip. I hope it turns around as there is potential there.

I was a MAJOR player and card holder at the Sahara. Just renovate it back even half way--expand the casino majorly, have the loosest slots and best odds on tables and VP, have a very inexpensive coffee shop (cafe ) and have an awesome players club, rename it back to the Sahara with the original designs and have mail offers that players CAN'T refuse!!! They will have a winner because all I hear is how bad the BJ, slots and table games are ON THE STRIP!!!!!

Truthfully he was talking about BEFORE the Mueruelo group took over GSR..it used to be a real dump, now all the dealers and employees from the casino Marnell just bought in Reno; went over to GSR.

But Mueruelo bought the Grand over 6 years ago. Might not be a stretch that Camp Rusty was talking to an employee who left 5 years ago or less.

I wandered into SLS th week they opened as it was at the end of the monorail line. I stopped in 3 times over 2 yearseach times did about 5k in play on machines, and left with a profit each time. However the offers were non existent at first. then discounted rooms and comp rooms after about 18 months. They had a really good buffet the forst couple months I would have gone and earned 1000 points a day for a buffet, but their comp program made no sense. Never stayed there.

The rooms are very nice but very small. The room I had last August was about enough room to hold a king and that's it. Kind of industrial chic in decor.
