As far as I know. Rebrand because they're changing the name/style/components, not because they're changing the owner.....

Do we know if the exterior of Monte Carlo is going to change? New logo, I assume, but anything else? Or is this all just strictly interior?

Monte Carlo, IMHO, used to be a nice lower level European type of Hotel/Casino on the Strip when it was first opened. MC was my home base resort in the 90's. Monte Carlo was never meant to be like NYNY.
But then they started to de-theme the place by tearing down the outside facade with the statues and fountains and ruining it with a mexican restuarant, and then it got worse inside.
I used to frequent MC and NYNY since it first opened and a few years after that. Two different places to enjoy next to one another. Similar to Paris/PHO today. Paris is quieter and the clientele is older with a casino more like a European type of ambiance, whereas PHO is a party casino with a younger crowd ready to swing.
The de-theming of a resort can be major, like MGM and the whole Wizard of OZ/Theme Park fiasco........or something subtle, like what they did to Monte Carlo.

Monte Carlo was supposed to be boring, a James Bond type of place if Bond was on a budget...and i liked that once i exited the frenzy of NYNY and went back home to MC to make believe i was playing Baccarat with the high rollers with Lana Wood by my side......LOL.

The mockups I've seen are giving the exterior a facelift.

The renderings look good, but don’t they always. It looks like are trying to replicate the chic look, similar to Aria.

I originally thought it would be difficult to re-brand in place, but that thinking is wrong. Each year there are millions of new visitors that will have no recollection of the MC, it will soon be a distant memory for the majority of visitors. Try mentioning Imperial Palace to a millennial and they will look at your like you have 5 heads. For better or worse another legacy name bites the dust.

I guess it needed a make-over, but I still don't like the new name. We have an Eataly here and I can't really get into it - too much to choose from. It might be good in Vegas though - just grab some grub to bring to the room. I'll give it a chance though. Maybe the casino will be improved. I hope they don't take out those multi play blackjack machines though - they are a tradition for me!

Gonna finally visit Hit Bar and Lounge next week, before they rip it out. I've heard good things about it, so now or never!

If you like/love/tolerate bourbon whatsoever, try the barrel pick of Russel's Reserve at Hit. Last whiskey tasting I redeemed from Myvegas, I just asked for 4 pours of it. Delicious.

I have somewhat of a soft spot for the MC as it was my 'home' on my first proper Vegas trip.

Like others I'm not convinced by the new name, but I guess they've run it past some focus groups who said that they associate 'MGM' with Vegas and they'll have seen that Caesars have been successful in using the name 'Linq' for both an outdoor space and refurbished resort.

I think Eataly will be a popular destination for many tourists, I'd certainly swing by to check it out.

Has there been any news on updates to the hotel (all I seem to have seen is that Hotel32 will become 'NoMad') ?

As a beer drinker I will miss 'The Pub' though.

Based on those renderings, I guess the focus groups are content with bland, characterless styling that does nothing to make an icon of a building on one of the busiest, most iconic strips in the world. Basically what I expected, though.
