I guess we're lucky. Gambling is a lower-tier propriety, and a zero priority at home, and while we certainly like to maximize pay tables, Vegas still offers what we want, and that's Vegas: gambling-subsidized hotels, crazy good food, golf, spa, the buzz of the casino. We travel "other" way more than Vegas, but Vegas is still there.

I never gamble except for Las Vegas.

    The occasional lottery ticket.

There are several casinos within a 4 hour drive. I'm just not interested.

Maybe for shits and giggles I should do a midweek drive up to National Harbor, less than a 90 minute drive.

I have been getting mailings from National Harbor, but it is too long of a drive for what they are offering.

As our income increased our gambling decreased. We never were rollers to any remote extent. Now we like to plink away at VP for a few hours, and then we're satiated and ready to do all the other stuff. We are near to or pass by all the time what I think are held in some regard as "good" tribal casinos ... no interest. And when we are in other states or countries casinos don't even register. Just how we're wired.

Vegas. Reno. And Laughlin if we ever again get there.

Yes give it one more try....What have been your bad experiences and what is your choice of hotel?
I have been to Las Vegas 16 times in 16 years , this July is our 17th trip. I can hand on heart say that the only poor experiences I have had have been nothing to complain about. A few poor buffets and I guess being a vegetarian the buffets are just not really for us type. (Wynn buffet excused) and 2 bad shows which we just left half way through. Jersey Boys and Penn and Teller , yes I know everyone raves about those 2 but I guess on the night it just didn't work for us.

You laugh, but going to AC instead of Vegas will save us approximately $1000 plus we won't have to suffer through long flights. Since the quality of non-gambling entertainment has cratered in Vegas and other costs have gone up, it's really a no-brainer.

Haha, not entirely everyone. No Jersey Boys fan here, a waste of money for us. Sadly, I slept through most of Penn and Teller, awakened by jabs from husband, and laughs from son-in-law (it had been a long day). I must say the meet and greet after was a nice touch and very gracious to all.

Despite some of the less than welcome changes recently that affect so many, Vegas is still our special place. We've had some awesomely memorable, cultural, and once in a lifetime experiences all over the USA and Europe including some fine cruising experiences with more on the drawing board. But, Vegas has an inexplicable hold over me; I hope it never lets go!
Each subsequent trip has been just as exciting as my first.

    Viva!

We stay downtown. No parking fee's and resort fee's, if any are less.

We visit the strip, and some off strip properties like Gold Coast, but do the majority of our gambling, eating, and drinking downtown.

Nothing ever stays the same, so we just try to stay current, even though we are geezers, and do what we like and can afford. And we always have a good time.
