Outside of the low end rooms with CET and a number of the Boyd properties, what are the easiest room comps?
I keep getting 2 night offers from TI with minimal play the past few years, though I haven't stayed there in a long time. I think if I put most of my play there, those offers might improve a bit. Other than that, I think El Cortez or Casino Royale would dole out easy room comps for decent play. Plaza also. Everything would really depend on the games you play and how much you're willing to risk per hand/pull.
JR I've never played a slot machine in my life (strictly blackjack), but from my experience the easiest (besides the properties/players clubs you mentioned) are TI and Stratosphere . I've heard Tropicana can be generous, but I haven't played there in years. Downtown is pretty easy to score room comps. A $25 a hand player can stay just about anywhere except Golden Nugget and El Cortez (more on that in a second). They've tightened up some, though. Free rooms at Golden Nugget start with an average of probably $50 a hand and they are VERY generous with food comps. I've had no luck getting room comps at El Cortez..even with $50-$100 a hand table play. My buddy who grinds it out at nickel video poker with a whopping $100 a day bankroll gets free rooms all the time. Go figure.
If you can afford $50 a hand, you can afford to sit at a VP machine for an hour or two to get those free rooms at the El. If you play that big there, I'm sure you've noticed that they tend to sweat the money(if you get on a hot streak), I dont think they really want the big players unless they're bad, you are probably a "good" player and they've listed you as such.
The first time the wife and I travelled to Vegas "in the know", where we really understood the slot clubs and comps, we spent some time downtown and signed up for every slot club we could find. Mostly to collect free decks of cards and crap like that. About a month after we got back, I had a mailing offer from Golden Gate for a free mid-week room (2 nights). We did not gamble a cent there. Just signed up for the slot club and walked out. This was about 14 years ago
I hit up a few different casinos on my past trip with about the same amount of play, a couple hours max bet on penny and dollar slots. The most I ended up playing was 5 dollar a spin on WOF at Venetian. I will post my results. Played at The D, Four Queens, Mirage, and Venetian..and CET but I was already comped there. Never had any history at The D, Four Queens, or Venetian. I don't expect anything from Venetian, or would expect to maintain their level to keep comps, but a teaser marketing offer wouldn't be too bad. On a said note, I was surprised how quickly the cashback was adding up at Four Queens.
I keep thinking I should give ElCo or 4 Queens more play but I just don't enjoy the casino that much. Got offers from Golden Gate but not sure if I would be happy with a standard room. I actually like the Stratosphere and TI. Maybe I should pay for a night in one of those places and just play casually for a few hours and see what it brings.
