    • Don't play scared Every time I play above my comfort level and sweat every bet I always lose. I've learned not to press bets more then twice.
    • Don't be a stalker. When there is a machine I want to play but it is constantly busy and those people seem to be winning I hover close by. When it finally opens I end up running $100 through it without one hit.
    • Don't play tired. If I've had a loooooong day in Vegas but it's still early I often don't want to give up and go to bed. Too much booze, hope and excitement will keep me in the casino too long and I always lose mainly due to stupid moves. Just go to bed!
    What are your sure things?

The same as everyone's sure things, rather than their perceptions:

    The house always wins.

I'm sure that answer isn't as fun as you superstitious folk, though!

    Never bet against a streak . . .

If the dice fly off the table a 7 out will follow

Bet big on the craps newbie. The Craps Gods always set the hook for them.

I'll do you one better. Getting beat like a rug and decide, "to hell with it", and put the rest of your chips in. (Maybe $200 from a $500 buy in)

Then you get the multi-split and doubles, and the next thing you know, you have $800 more being flushed down the drain!

When you feel down in the pit of your stomach that it's not going to be a good day, it's not going to be a good day. You can't play your way out of it. If you're in Vegas or AC or any destination, a nice walk, bite to eat, or other distraction usually changes the pace. I once felt that way going into the local and proceeded to play anyway. I ended up $100 from my buy-in and played for 2 hours straight, but I couldn't get into the fun of winning.

When wheeling a horse in a double or exacta don't get cheap and say, I'll leave the 6 out because it has no chance.....if you do, you will get your arse bitten

Damn it, I try not to be superstitious, but it's hard not to be when those superstitions are constantly reinforced.

Blackjack dealers have told me, "I wouldn't play at my table. I'm on fire tonight." I laugh knowing that things change, the math of it, etc etc. Then they end up mowing me down.

Whenever my wife is drawing to a four card Royal and misses, the one card she needed will show up on the next hand. It never fails.

Don't leave a 3 card poker table to pee and then come back. You will always miss your straight flush. If you have to pee take your money and run.

If you play scared, you will not win. Don't stress....just press. (I have a t-shirt with that saying, complete with dice and the lay-out of a craps table. I love that shirt.)

If you came to play, play. Go hard or go home.

Does the above work 100% of the time? Of course not. I don't think any gambling adage does.

Dice hits the money, rolls funny!

How many times has the dice hit a stack of chips and end up on Big Red? Seems like every time!

Oh, and never say the "S" word when playing craps. I hesitate to even think it let alone say it!

Sounds stupid, but if the plane lands to the south (about 10% of the time) as opposed to west (about 90%) I almost always have a winning trip! LOL, which way the wind is blowing. :)

When you're done at a machine immediately get away. Nothing bums you out more than someone sitting at the machine you were just at and hitting it big! Yes,yes completely random and I wouldn't have pushed it at the same millisecond they did, but still.
