Well, this is it folks. My last night in town. I've got my shopping taken care of, the convention is over, and my flight leaves around noon tomorrow. Not too early, but I'll still have to be up at a reasonable hour to get packed, drive to the airport, deal with the car, and get thru the zoo that McCarran can be at times. Hopefully not this time.

I'm gonna go downstairs and see if there are some good races going. Hopefully there are some good bartop spots open too, if not I might use my still active monofail pass and see what sort of trouble I can stir up elsewhere... Maybe SLS. Maybe Bally's. One way or another, I'll go have some fun, and maybe, just maybe, end up up for the trip. Up up. Uppity up up... Ok, I'll shut up and go play now.

In most cases, I like diversity. In this case, I'm not a fan.[IMG]

Well, I played quite a bit tonight. Lost a bit on VP, then craps, came out of $25 BJ a bit up. Now finishing up the evening at the high limit bar (Arturo, bartender there, served me despite the 'bar closed' signage. :) Unless a royal miracle happens in the next few minutes, I'll be down a bit for the trip, not bad at all. Exact win/loss will be reported here.

That's it for gambling, folks. Up $25 on VP. Time to cash it out and head to the room to count it out, pack things up, and hit the hay. Thanks for coming along for the ride.

Good security here... I stepped out onto my patio for a cigarette before bed, and a security guy wandered by and asked for my ID. He radioed someone to verify that I was the guest that belongs to my room. Very friendly about it (of course I was the legitimate guest for the proper room).

Time for bed, folks. I'm sure I'll report a bit tomorrow, maybe add some details later, but that's about it for me. Anyone who took the over for this one getting finished, the official results are in. Time to collect. :)

Sounds like a good trip overall. Nice meeting you, and thanks for sharing the TR. I may share a not so live TR when I return. I've been trying to keep notes.

Top tip: for your next solo trip... the way to dine solo is to sit at the bar. There are lots of great restaurants with bar seating in this city. Saddle up to a few and get your company's money's worth.

I read an article recently that indicated that Elvis items are not moving well, and there is plenty available at
low prices. That is because the generation that knew Elvis is all dying off. Makes sense.

I saw Elvis in concert in 1976. I still recall my horror at paying a whopping $12.50 for a ticket.
No souvenirs from the show. I was dead broke. 22 years old. Figured I would get some next
    time I saw him.

Well, we know how that turned out when the King died on his throne in 1977.

Ahh, on my way back now, on the rental car shuttle bus headed for the terminal. Of course I should have turned in early last night but didn't. This morning wasn't too rough, but I didn't get up and have a proper breakfast as I had intended. Feeling a bit low at the moment, hopefully I'll have the opportunity to get some water and a bite to eat before I fly.

Timing worked out just right. I was able to get a burrito and water at 360 Gourmet Burrito in the B gates. Feeling a bit better now, and just boarded. Time to sleep a bit on the plane (I've made a bit of an art of sleeping on airplanes, I've napped thru takeoff before). It'll be nice to be back home. Super busy weekend ahead of me... I'll try to login soon and see if I can fill in some of the more amusing details from the trip that I either skipped over or didn't write out fully during the live report.
