Just finished quite a nice (and truly massive) plate of nachos at Nacho Daddy with jman30. Looks like we'll probably head downtown for a bit, catch the SDX for convenience. :)

On the SDX now, for a hopefully much more productive Fremont Street Experience than last night.

Thanks! You're right about the Sigma Derby being a nearly universal draw. There used to be a bunch of old, weird, wonderful Sigma machines in operation at Pioneer (Laughlin). Lots of bizarre VP variations, oddball slots, etc. Sigma made a lot of neat stuff. Last time I was at the Pioneer they seemed to have gone to more modern machines. At least the Derby machines are sticking around MGM and The D.

Bitcoin getting some pretty prominent placement on Fremont Street... The source of most of this trip's bankroll. :)[IMG]

And headed back to the strip now, had a great low key people watching stroll and great chat with jman30. Looks like the easiest way back is SDX to SLS, monofail back to Westgate.

Back at Westgate to wind down, run a bit of VP, have a beer or two. Got 10x out of STP... :)[IMG]

Again! Within 5 minutes! I've probably gotten 10x four times total. Including these. Here's hoping for a good draw...[IMG]

Midnight Vegas time... Time to turn in. It has been a much lighter night gambling and drinking-wise than last night. Looking forward to an adventuresome tomorrow. Breakfast in the Westgate concierge lounge, convention sessions, and then who knows what. Perhaps I'll go downtown again with a real camera (graciously loaned to me by a pro photographer friend) and shoot some of the decaying marquee of Vegas Club. Saw it tonight and thought it would make for some fun photos, but my phone was sadly ill equipped to render that in a decent fashion.

Playing at Westgate before bed cost me a bit (not bad at all really, 7/5 $0.25 STP and 2-coin $0.25 Top Dollar (got on the feature 3 times). Fun, not too expensive... And had some fun conversation with my new favorite bartender about the front-door drama here at the hotel this afternoon that she wasn't here to see (showed her my phone photos of all the Metro action). Until tomorrow, my friends, sleep well, and good luck to you.

Up early, even had time to eat at the concierge lounge. Now up waiting for the monorail to MGM, enjoying not having to be in too much of a hurry.

I timed it yesterday, the Westgate-MGM trip takes almost exactly 13 minutes. It's actually a bit chilly up here, glad I brought a coffee with me. :)

Rather oddly, I've got the platform to myself today.[IMG][IMG]

I would also appear to have my own private car today.[IMG]

Is it unbelievably lame of me to be sitting around at the convention luncheon reading my own TR? I think it might be... I'll be done here at 5 (6 if I go to the convention reception), will probably just get back to Westgate after that and relax (possibly even nap a bit). I've been curious to see the current state of the Riviera property, maybe I'll stroll over there for a bit. Or maybe take an elevator up high in the Westgate tower to see if I can get a good arial view. Time to get back to business... More soon!

Just a quick snapshot of the edge-of-the seat hair raising action in the conference session. It's actually quite interesting, to be fair.[IMG]

Not much to see. "They paved paradise and put up a parking lot"

Have you gone to the Westgate Concierge Lounge for cocktail hour yet? It's kind of oddly quiet and empty when I've gone. The bartender didn't even speak much English the two times I went.

I visited the lounge right at the end of cocktail hour on Sunday, but was mainly focused on grabbing some much needed food before they dismantled the buffet. There was a small crowd (maybe 5 people, but it's a small bar), but by the time I finished eating, the bar was closed and the patrons gone. The area has been nearly deserted every other time I've been in there, but I find it to be a nice quiet place to relax a bit, take a phone call outside the din of the casino, that sort of thing. I actually had an inspiration for a post about it that first evening, but it needs to be multimedia, and I don't think that the Tapatalk client I've been using supports formatting to the degree I need. Will have to get on my laptop soon and do that (assuming it's still there... The safe in my room is too small to accommodate it).

That's sad news about the parking lot, I grew to love the Riv over the years, even dedicated a trip to visiting in the final days of operation. Guess I'll have to rely on Circus Circus to get my deferred-maintenance older-casino fix.

Done with business for the day. Sorta ate dinner at the reception afterwards, headed back to Westgate to charge the phone, relax a bit, and see what the evening brings. Train is here now, I'll be there in 13mins. :)

I've been a big fan of Urban grunge/industrial scenery for a long time... The view of the back of casinos on the monorail is really pretty fun from that perspective.

Rested a bit, charged the phone, and found full pay Bonus Deluxe, just hanging out for some beer and good VP at Westgate (full pay stuff is by the buffet entrance).[IMG]

On the down side, Bonus Deluxe without a 4OAK so far is kicking my butt. On the upside, looks like I'll get to meet atom later on at MSS (more full pay, yay!).
