Me... only play baccarat.. used play BJs among other games but last couple of years one and only baccarat.
Btw you mentioned you play at golden nuggets - how is the action there? Never played at GN been to downtown few times but never stayed any of the hotels - I only play at MGM property's perhaps I will venture out to others
Honest question - What about baccarat grabs you and makes you want to play it? I play pretty much every other table game but haven't gotten into baccarat. I must be missing something with it being as popular as it is.
All I play is Baccarat. Well, 90% of the time. I love it because it's a game you don't have to play every hand. You sitting in or out doesn't affect the outcome of the hands. The next winner is predetermined. You can look for patterns and go from there (though there is disagreement about using the score board since math is math and the next hand winner is based on that, not on a score board) But yeah. It's one of the lowest house edge games too (if not playing the dragon or ties)
It's my game. It's the table game that gets rated the most accurately in my opinion. With respect to GN, they have a bacc pit in the Rush Tower area, and a high limits area in the main casino. All midi. One mini table on the casino floor. It's the best bacc downtown.
In my humble honest opinion, a Fourtune can be made but Fourtune can be lost in one session which I learned (again and again) over past weekend trip I totally agree what @tycoon wrote about game of Baccarat unless you play it few times and experience yourself it may be hard for you to comprehend (not saying anything in negative).
Thanks for the responses. I'll have to give it a try soon. I generally like to make decisions based on the best available strategy for a game. I religiously follow basic strategy in blackjack and use Wizard of Odds for the other games. The seeming lack of a strategy in back is what has kept me away to date. With the low house edge on player or banker bets, I'll have to see how the experience is.
It's been a few years since my last trip but always put in lots of baccarat play at GN, and they were always generous with the comps. I generally play from 12-5am so always easy to find a seat.
I like baccarat because it's neat, clean and fast. I used to play craps but often got annoyed when it sometimes took 10-15 minutes to resolve a p/dp decision. I like baccarat because it is less volatile than other games. And, I like baccarat because within each shoe you can expect a certain number of 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5+ streaks to pop.
I'm a baccarat fan as well. One of the thoughts about the game is that your success is based on your choice of placing a bet on either Banker or Player. One of them is going to win (with the exception of ties). Whereas if you compare it to Blackjack for example, you get hands where you will bust if you hit your 12 and get a face card and will still lose if you stand because that same face card just made the dealer's 21. You lose either decision in this BJ hand, but in Baccarat, you will win if you pick the right side to bet on. I guess the other reason I like the game is you get to squeeze the cards..... =D
Also my #1 game but my play was limited due to the higher table minimum at my local casino, then came...... Stadium Seating, I now have 2 Baccarat shoes going on with min $5 bet. I know same is offered at the Rio and Venetian. Before it was Gold Coast, lot of $10 min tables. As previously stated, you play when you want, and being able to play 2 seperate shoes sitting at one betting terminals gives you plenty of betting ops if you look for certain trends.
I only play baccarat, and for the past (almost two years now), it has been almost exclusively at Cosmo. Yup. I lost 17K my last trip at Cosmo (after deciding it was a good idea to hit the tables after nightclub, losing, chasing losses) and won 12K this past memorial day weekend. Money management is definitely very important. Play slow but also know when to press.
