My friend is going to take her parents to Vegas this week for their first trip there ever.

Her father is 84 and is over-the-moon excited as he has always wanted to play 1/2 and 1/3 in Vegas. Dad's looking to play at Bellagio, Venetian, and perhaps Aria.

He and I have played together in home games, local pub tournaments, and we once took a poker trip to the Little Creek Casino here in Washington state. Dad is NOT the stereotypical old nit. Quite the contrary. He is aggro, sets traps, and loves a 3 barrel bluff. He also plays his "clueless old man" shtick perfectly. [IMG]

I wish that I was going with them. I can't wait to see how he does.

That sounds fantastic. Looks like he's hitting three of the best. Might as well throw Wynn/Encore into the mix!

Hope he has fun. But summer isn't a good time to go to Vegas. Too hot and too many college kids.

I don't think he'll mind the college girls running around. The heat though, is a good point. Did we figure out when they are going?

He arrived today. I hear he will be at the Bellagio (mostly). Fred is his name. Average weight, a bit hard of hearing (wears hearing aides), laughs a lot but can be a bit salty.

He will most certainly NOT mind college girls running around. He's also in pretty darn good shape.

I believe he wants to park himself in poker rooms as his daughter(s) wife see the sights. The heat shouldn't bother him too much.

Update: His daughter texted me that came home with a cold and … $600+ at the poker tables.
