Wife and I are going to LV for our 30th anniversary in November. First question is will it warm enough to sit outside while dining? Then to the real question of this thread, what bar would you reccomend to visit to have a couple of drinks while taking in the view of a sunset and watching the city light up? Someplace that will be special, where we don't have to have dinner, just drinks, a view, and maybe some good intimate music.

I'm sure others will have better suggestions but I've wanted to watch sunset from the bar at The STRAT Believe Air Bar is the name.

Ghostbar at Palms on the terrace or VooDoo terrace at Rio; fantastic views.

One of the best places to see the sunset in Las Vegas, as well as the city lighting up, is at the 107 Skylounge at the top of the Stratosphere . They have a great happy hour from 4 to 7, which would work perfectly for you. Sunset in Las Vegas is at 5:45 on November 1 and at 5:42 on November 4. Daylight Saving Time ends on November 5, so the sun sets at 4:41, and on November 30 it sets at 4:27. The happy hour has half price appetizers and 2-for-1 cocktails. Be sure to tell the elevator attendant that you are going up to the lounge - that should get you up without being charged. The restaurant is pretty good, too - much better than it was in years past.

+1, could not have said it better. But when I ordered a Dark and Stormy, the bartender had to pour the booze for both but held off on the ginger beer for #2 until I was ready for it.

My vote is for either Mandarin Bar at MO or Skyfall at Delano.

I think you should try the parasol bar at the Wynn. You tube it. You will be able to have a drink, mind you expensive, while looking over the lake of dreams.

+1 Skyfall at Delano. Hands down the most amazing view in town. You might also check out Foundation Room at MB too. Not quite as great a view but still pretty awesome. Both places have outdoor patios.

Skyfall at Delano. Top floor view with an outdoor patio
Mandarin Bar at Mandarin Oriental. Top floor view. No outdoor patio.

I'm not a big fan of the Strat because of it's off strip location. But I will confess it's a great view

Check out yelp and see the pics people uploaded. You really can't go wrong.

I will second paperposter suggestion on Hyde at the Bellagio. Great view of the fountains and a comfortable place for a drink.

A lot of good suggestions on here. I love rooftop/high floor bars so I've been to nearly all of those mentioned. I think the Foundation Room has the best view, but they're all great. Going up to any of them about 15 minutes before the sun sets and seeing the lights come on is one of my absolute favorite things to do.

Skyfall has the absolute best unobstructed view, better than foundation room which is angled.

    Love Skyfall!
It may or may not be warm; we were there last mid-Nov & ate outside late (9-11PM); it was cool, but manageable with a jacket.
    They often have space heaters

Skyfall and Strat are the best places imo. The weather in Vegas in November is crisp and cool. Highs in the low 70's and lows as low as 40, depending on when in November you're there. Personally, I think it's awesome weather, but I'm a fat guinea that sweats taking a cold shower. My wife freezes her ass off, but shes 5 foot nothing, one hundred nothing lbs. Being a native of the 3rd level of hell (Florida) as far as hot weather is concerned, these are welcome temperatures, as we had an 85 degree Thanksgiving and an 80 degree Christmas last year. So, it's all how you handle cold/cool weather....But keep in mind, I'm the asshole wearing shorts and t-shirt when it's 30 degrees outside.

LOL . I only own shorts here in St Pete (actually have 1 pair of dress pants) which I wear year round. If it gets in the 40's at night in winter, I add a hoodie

If it gets in the 40's in winter here we start watching for signs of heat stroke! :faint:
