Not sure these qualify as memorable but we really enjoy the lunch specials at Noodle Exchange at Gold Coast. Also the dim sum at Ping Pang Pong in the same hotel/casino.

if hot foods are hot and cold foods cold is all one needs, then most buffets fit the bill. As a lover of buffets, I think MSS is about equivalent to GN, but neither very good. When I stay at the Nugget I walk to MSS just because it is much cheaper.

Can't go wrong at Lotus of Siam. I've never had a lunch reservation and never had a problem getting a table. Another place to consider if you like Italian is Nora's.

I was going to suggest Lotus. Damn good food. Absolutely memorable. I try not to miss it on every trip. Don't know if you would need reservations but it couldn't hurt.

For an off-strip lunch my wife and I have enjoyed eating at Sonio's several times. Family owned and run lunch spot with excellent rotisserie chicken. I usually get the rotisserie chicken salad. You can tell there are many regulars here as they are greeted by the staff upon arrival. And... it's between downtown and Aria at the corner of W Charleston and Valley View. We have been to Vegas many, many times and enjoy finding some of these local gems for much needed breaks from the casinos and resorts.

If there is one person on here that really explores
all of Vegas and lets us kindly know the results
it is Westie. You should look up his reports and his
reviews on restaurants around the city. He has
explored so many and writes up the best reviews.
Would give you some great ideas.

Good luck and enjoy your exploring.

Not sure if all of these are lunch friendly or if some are better for dinner, but here goes:

Orchid Garden - Large dim sum restaurant. Lots of great foods and also lots of foods I didn't even recognize or was too scared to try (the sign of a good Asian restaurant if you ask me).

Boiling Crab - shrimp, crab, crawfish, sausage boiled in your choice of seasoning. They just cover the table in butcher paper and bring you the bag. So awesome!

Lotus of Siam - I'll repeat this recommendation as it's also one of our favorite places to go. Hard to beat if you like Thai food.

Sammy’s LA Pastrami & Burgers - I've only eaten at the Decatur location before it closed, but I really liked it. I think I originally learned about it from one of the food network shows.

Hue Thai - AWESOME pho as well as banh mi and other Vietnamese items. This place is great for some Pho when you are feeling a little rough and need some comfort food (Pho is one of mine).

I'm also an Ellis Island fan and usually eat there at least once a trip but I've never thought of it as "off strip" since you can easily walk there.

If you like BBQ, this is your winner. It's a little "Hole in the Wall" (and I mean that in a good way) with some of the best brisket, pork, chicken, and ribs......all smoked low and slow

Thirding Rollin' Smoke. I was going to recommend Killer Shrimp at Town Square but I see they've closed until they find a new location next year.

Add me to the group that doesn't think much of Ellis Island. YMMV.

New York Pasta and Pizza. Great family owned Italian spot. Not extravagant or memorable as far as location, but the food is fantastic!
